The date -of the Special jdeeting to be <br />f fixed ,later. <br />DEPARTMENT OF tIEIG,HTS' AND 11EASURES <br />Motion prevailed to accept and place on file the weekly report of City' <br />Sealer Burns for the week ending November 13th., 1926, <br />PnTaICE DEPART` NT <br />Bills # 0 to r $ l� were approved and ordered >)aid. <br />Motion •prevailed to instruct Clerk to purchase chains for the PyIotor <br />patrols and other police cars that are now without skid chains. <br />11ption prevailed to instruct Clerk to purchase, One 1926 edition of <br />W Burns Revised Indiana Statutes and Index" to be used by the :T "olice <br />Dept. <br />;.hiss Van pert Secretary of the South Bend Retail Credit AsEfoeiation <br />appeared before the Board and requested .that the 'olice De pt. take <br />measures to bring about better observence of City Ordinance # 1954 <br />requiring all persons to obtain per. -iits to leave vacent premises in a <br />sanitary condition. <br />Tzotion prevailed to obtain an opinion from City Attorny Romig as to <br />his interpetca,tion of the ordinance so that the proper seeps for-its <br />strict enforcement can be taken. <br />The following motion was adapted. after being introduced by Mr. Nicely <br />and seconded by 11r. Rudynski, and the <br />vacency left by , the resigination of Officer C ordier the "Police Dept is <br />somewhat " hand icaAJpd. <br />C"hief Hatt suggested. that due to the shortage of Police 4) ~ficersat this <br />time it would be advisable to appoint an applicant whofhad previous <br />- police experience, and <br />that he be assigned to duty immeadiaatly. <br />On a motion by 1-Jr. Nicely and being seconded by Mr,. Reeder Casmier <br />TubiaK was appointe to the Police.Dept. to begin duty on this. date <br />... following certification of Dr. Duggen who was acting in the absense of <br />Dr..
