Requisitions and Bills were ordered.signed and <br />paid, <br />Motion prevailed to pay all.bills for-'the police department, <br />Applications for this department were accepted and ordered placed on <br />file, on motion of Nicely Chief Hatt was instructed to excuse <br />Captain Bunker from drill and also Sergt, Zgodinski. He was further <br />instructed to see that all night men attended drill. Meeting held in.the offices of the Board of Safety <br />at 4 p.m. all members present. <br />A petition was presented by Charles Speth and Frank <br />Mayer signed by 100 business firms. The petition proper says "The <br />undersigned respectfully petition for the ,enforcement of the <br />City Ordinance No,1954, known as the Moving Ordinance, and ask that <br />this enforcament be effective continually from an early date. <br />On motion of I -Jr. Reeder and 2nd by 1dr. Nicely the petition was <br />ordered placed on file and the clerk instructed to call �o the <br />attention of all transfer men the ordinance and also to confer with <br />the Chief of Police. <br />. Motion prevailed to accept the report of the fire dept, <br />Bills were ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed to accept the report of the Electrical <br />Dept, Requisitions No §0757 and 00758 were approved. <br />The resignition of Reed I. Hawthorne , City Sealer of <br />I leagts and Irieasures was presented and accepted to become effective <br />y March 15. The Clerk was instructed to communicate with the sta <br />department ,of Weights and Measures and notify .them of the resigntion. <br />On motion of Mr. Reeder and a negative vote'by I&* Nicely <br />the following changes in the police dept. were ordered by Pres. <br />Engeldrum: "Effective March 15 Horace M* Hamilton,aset,chief, � <br />becomes -Capt. of Detectives replacing Captain Guy L. Bunker who <br />will become acting Asst. Chief. captain Cordier is hereby reduced <br />to the ask of patrolman and will replace Nieholas'Laskowski« <br />Patrolman—Laskowski is promoted.to the rank of Sergt. and will <br />replace Sergt. .,William McMann. Sergt. Mc.Mann .is, .promoted ,to the <br />rank of Captain and will take the shift left vacant by the removal <br />of captain Cordi6r. -�— <br />Bills for—the Police dept. were ordered paid. Fire Chief <br />Roy Snoblockwas ordered to attend the state convention for Fire Chief's <br />at Lafayette, Ind. March 25, and 26. 3. <br />Requisitions for the Electric Dept. Nos. 9372) to ') were <br />approved.Potion prevailed that the dues of the Supt. of the Electrical <br />Department to the national organization of .Electricians .be paid. <br />Motion prevailed that Bills from 141 to 146 be paid by the <br />Police Department. <br />A petition signed by approximately 1,)3� residents of River <br />Park was presented to''the board by Mr. Witwer and a committee asking <br />that a new fire station be Erected in River Park. Mh$ion prevailed that <br />the board accept the petition and petition the Board of Public Saftety <br />for the erection of a new building Q house said fire -equipment in <br />
