Hawthorne, presented weely report for the week ending <br />Nov. 23th. 1925. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: - <br />The following men appeared before the Board and were questioned <br />regarding thier applications for.positior_s in the Police Department, <br />Fredrick L. Bowers, Arthur J. Wearver, , Earl Harrier, Glenn Beasecker, , <br />J E. Haase Oliver D. Jeffries, Frank Kasprzyk, Teo. T. Jac Tdally, <br />Ralph E. Poore, Frank A Roman, Dour Rostiser, Ed ,w. L. <br />Wenger, Rollie <br />F. Emerick, "and Harold E. Graf. none of the above mentioned men <br />were appointed, the following men also appeared befor the ' 3oard and <br />.were appointed and requested to take the medical examination, <br />Harry H. Henderson, appeared before the.Board and requested to be <br />reihstated and Motion prevailed that he be re'instated,to begin duty <br />as soon as psooible,. Edward L._Eyster., Thomas J. Yroblewski. <br />Motion prevailed that the resig nation of Officer Wm, Taylor, <br />be accepted same.taking effect Nov. 16th. 19250 <br />The Board went into session as a trial body to hear the following <br />charges which were prefered against officer.Geo. Pinter and dim. <br />Diedrich, by Chief Lane. <br />TO THE BOARD OE PUBLIC SAFETY, Nov. 2Cth. 1925. <br />OF TIC CITY OF SOUTH BEND, IND. <br />I herewith prefer the .following charges against officers <br />Geo. "inter and 17m.. Diedrich, on duty in the city of South Bend, Ind. <br />charge Conduct unbecoming an officer. or officers :Specifications <br />that on Nov. 1?th. said officers Pinter and Diedrich, in this, that <br />the said officers Pinter and Diedrich did on the 17th. day of Nov. <br />1925 in this city did unnecessarialy strike and wond one Arthur Handy, <br />with their fists and night sticks in arresting him on Chapin St., this <br />city on above date. <br />(Signed L. Diedrich, <br />The Board then went into.executive session to consider evidence <br />submitted., after a- pmblic hearing and submission of all evidence, <br />the Board went into executive session for the purpose of considering <br />all evidence submitted, after due and carefull consideration of all <br />the evidence submitted the Board found the said officer Geo. Pinter <br />and 1,7m. Diedrich. Guilty as charged and there upon.fined Goo. Pinter; <br />Fifty dollars ($502[00) and Wm.
