Friday August 28ty. 1925 ,Office of the lbard. of <br />meeting called to order at 5 T?. M. All.memebrs being <br />minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Public Safety, <br />present. <br />FIRE DEPAFTA;TENT :- <br />Chief Sibrel made a verbal report of his department. <br />Motion prevailed that a new Studebaker car be order for the Fire <br />Chief delivery to be made as soon as possible. <br />ELELCTRICAL DEPARTMENT: - <br />Supt. Qualls, made a verbal report having just returned from the <br />Municipal League Convention held at Gary, Ind. at whimh meeting he read <br />a paper on this city's new Police & Fire Alarm Station. <br />WEIGHTS & 14EASURE DEPARTMENT : - <br />Reed I. Hawthorne presented weekly report for the ,week ending <br />August 28th. 1926 <br />POLICE DEPARTIENT:- <br />An itemized statemant was received from the Indiana & Michigan <br />Electric Co., addressed to '14ayor Seebitt, of the account of the <br />Board of Public Safety, (Fire Department) showing amounts they claim <br />unpaid. President Davies agreed to take this matter up with the,Electric <br />Co., with a view to answer same. <br />The following men appeared before the board and were questioned <br />regarding theier applications Bor positions in the police depprtment, <br />Donald TvTorse, James L. ,r.7c Weeney, Wo- Shelton Yeefer, Chas. Austin, and <br />Harrys S. Ambs, appliction for reinstatement. and motion prevailed <br />that the followin# men were appointed and requested to take the <br />physical examination and. all that pass the examination will be placed <br />on the awaiting -list. <br />Mot' evail d 't adjourn:- <br />ATTE' . - PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD. <br />LERY 0 TH BUD. <br />Friday Sept. 4th. 1925. Office of the Board of Public Safety, <br />meeting called to order at 5 P. M. All members being present, minutes <br />of previous meeting were read and approved, <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT:- <br />REQUISITIONS PRESENTED AND APPROVED. <br />Numbers 1129 to 1144 inclusive were approved. <br />ELELCTRIHAL DEPARTMENT: - <br />REQUISITIONS PRESENTED & APPROVED. <br />Numbers 601 to 612 inclusive were approved. <br />Supt. Qualls, presented a writen report on the new oVerhaad type <br />signals and suggested. that an order be placed for twenty (2)) signals <br />of this type and that same could be installed and operated by a master <br />control the estimate cost of this complete installation of this <br />overhead system installed. would. be about Three Thoasand Dollars <br />(3,000.0) and motion prevailed that same is to be installed as <br />soon as possible. <br />WEIGHTS & tlEASURE DEPARTMENT:- <br />Reed I. Hawthorne presented <br />Sept. 4th. 1925. <br />?'OLICE DEPARTMENT : - <br />weekly report for the week endin# <br />REQUI`SITIOITS PRESIEYTEM & APPROVED. <br />Numbers 2248 to 2256 inclusive were approved. <br />Ilotion prevailed that the Bonad of offfieerThomas Nowak for One <br />thousand (1,000.?) and the National Surety co as Surety was approved <br />and order placed on file. <br />Mr. Taylor Sec'y. of the South Bend Motor Club appeared before the <br />baard and was granted permission to remakk the Lincl6n Highway through <br />the city with new signs. <br />Mr. I. R. 0orr_ish, sal esVan for the: Yawman & Erbe 1,11-f g. Co. , <br />appeared before the Board and submitted prices on Filing cabinets and <br />guides for same as follows: - <br />1 set 1200 5x3 guides oelluloided 43.20 <br />100 only 5x3 Heavy Blank guides 1.00 <br />1 #b-)30 15 drawer 5x3 filing cabinet complete with <br />1 #5888 4 double 8x8 d.rawr cabinet steel <br />Molio.d prevailed that the Board of Public Works be <br />purchase t ing b nets and t polite department <br />gu ides f s <br />ATTEST;,- R DENT OF THE <br />'CL Y T B ARD � <br />top 967.50 <br />9 0.70 <br />petitioned to. <br />.would. purchase the <br />BOARD. <br />
