REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 14, 2007 <br />Mr. Charles E. Clark, License Auditor, Department of Administration and Finance, 12~` <br />Floor County-City Building, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for these bill. <br />Mr. Clark advised that in accordance with the procedure for the renewal of City <br />Business/Occupational licenses for the operation of Scrap MetaUJunk Dealers/Recycling <br />Operations, renewal applications for a total of seven (7) businesses combined were <br />submitted to the Police Department, Fire Inspection Bureau, Water Works, Department of <br />Code Enforcement and Building Department. The properties were inspected for Fire <br />Code violations, environmental violations, proper maintenance of the premises and areas <br />outside the fences, and the height and condition of the surrounding fencing. All received <br />favorable recommendation from all departments. The reason for two separate resolutions <br />is that they were received after the deadline for filing. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolutions at this time. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to Resolution No. 07-71, Councilmember Dieter made a motion to adopt this <br />Resolution. Councilmember Pfeifer seconded the motion which carried and the <br />Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of eight (8) ayes. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to Resolution No. 07-72, Councilmember Dieter made a motion to adopt this <br />Resolution. Councilmember Pfeifer seconded the motion which carried and the <br />Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of eight (8) ayes. <br />BILLS -FIRST READING <br />BILL NO. 26-07 FIRST READING ON A BILL AMENDING THE <br />ZONING ORDINANCE FOR APPROXIMATELY <br />25 ACRES LOCATED SOUTH OF ANGELA <br />BOULEVARD/EDISON ROAD ON THE WEST <br />AND EAST SIDES OF EDDY STREET, <br />COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 4 IN THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />This bill had first reading. Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to refer this bill to <br />the Area Plan Commission. Councilmember Pfeifer seconded the motion which carried <br />by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 27-07 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE <br />COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $225,000 <br />FROM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INCOME <br />TAX (EDIT) FUND #408 TO SUPPORT THE <br />SERVICES OF DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND, <br />INC. <br />This bill had first reading. Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to refer this bill to <br />the Community and Economic Development Committee and set it for Public Hearing and <br />Third Reading on May 29, 2007. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which <br />carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br />28 <br />
