6 ~ ~ Zonis and Annexation Committee Meetin <br />g 9 <br />2007 South Bend Common Council <br />The May 14, 2007 meeting of the Zoning and Annexation Committee of the South Bend <br />Common Council was called to order by its Vice- Chairperson, Council Member Ervin <br />Kuspa at 5:03 p.m. in the Council's Informal Meeting Room. <br />Persons in attendance included Council Members Rouse, Pfeifer, Varner and Kuspa <br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz, Martha Lewis, Mrs. Kopola, Nick Witner, Jamie Loo of the <br />South Bend Tribune and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br />Council Member Kuspa noted that the committee members include Council Members <br />Kirsits, Pfeifer, Varner and himself. <br />Bill No. 10-07 Rezonin Re nest for 1914 Miami Street <br />Council Member Kus~a noted that the Council has received a letter from Edward M. <br />Fisher dated May 14~ (copy attached) requesting that Bill No. 10-07 be continued until <br />the Council meting of May 29, 2007. <br />Dr. Varner made a motion, seconded by Council Member Kuspa that Bill No. 10-07 be <br />recommended to be continued until May 29t" at the request of the Petitioner. The <br />motion passed. <br />Bill No. 24-07' Amendin Ordinance No, 97fl8-Ofi <br />Council Member Kirsits arrived at the Committee meeting, noting that he was delayed <br />due to a family emergency. He then called for a formal presentation on Bill No. 24-07 <br />Nick Witner of the Department of Community and Economic Development made the <br />presentation. He noted that the Bill would correct a scrivener's error contained in <br />Ordinance No. 9708-06. 1t was noted that Deputy City Attorney Sean Peterson worked <br />with the Council Attorney on this proposed ordinance. <br />Council Member Pfeifer made a motion, seconded by Dr. Varner that Bill No. 24-07 be <br />recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
