REGULAR MEETING APRIL 23, 2007 This bill had first reading. Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to refer this bill to the Personnel and Finance Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on May 14, 2007. Councilmember Dieter seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. REPORT FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION: It is noted that the Council is in receipt of a recommendation from the Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County, for the following ordinance based on their Public Hearing held on April 17, 2007: BILL NO. 15-07 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN CLAY TOWNSHIP, CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH; COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT 4 Councilmember Varner made a motion to refer this bill to the Zoning and Annexation Committee and set it for Public Hearing on May 29, 2007 and Third Reading on June 25, 2007. Councilmember Kelly seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. B. BILL NO. 06-127 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 3702 PROGRESS DRIVE TO BE AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF A FIVE (5) YEAR PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR PARRI SH/Iv1EYER MACHINE, INC. Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to refer this bill to the Community and Economic Development Committee and set it for Public Hearing on May 12, 2007. Councilmember Dieter seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. NFW RTT4TNF44 Council President Rouse advised that the second meeting in May will be rescheduled to Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at 7:00 p.m., due to the observance of Memorial Day. 27
