All members being present. <br />Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT:- REQUISITIONS PRESENTED & APPROVED* <br />565,. Feather Dusters 566- Castings. 567- Battery for Noe <br />Mol.tion prevailed that the applications of Roberts J. Sumpton, <br />and Geo: Geltz.'for positions in the Fire Department were order played <br />,i., ✓ <br />on Pile. <br />Motion prevailed that Chief Sibrel', is to attend the - International <br />Fire Chiefs convention, to be held at Richmond, Va. Expenses of the <br />trip to be paid out of the Firemens Miscellaneous Fund., <br />ELECTRICAL DE2ARTMENT - <br />REQUISITIONS PRESENTED & APPROVED. <br />125- .- Gamewell Fire Alarm Boxes. 126 Two `tires. <br />Supt,.Beaning presented weekly report for the week ending <br />Sept. 12th. <br />'ME I GHTS & MRASURE DEP ARTMEV T : <br />Reed I. Hawthorne, presented weekly report for the week ending <br />Sept. 14th. 1923: <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT : - REQUISITIONS PRESENTED & APPROVED. <br />R'equisition's #10631 to1074 inclusive were approved. <br />Motion prevailed.-that the contract with the A. G. Meier & Co, <br />Chicago, Ill. for uniforms for the Department was approved and <br />signed. <br />Motion prevailed thatvthe`resigination of Chas. P. d?Iiekens, <br />as a member of the Police Department was accepted, <br />The Board went into session as a trial body to hear the <br />following charges which were prefered against officers, Weber and <br />Mtn Cormick, by chief Lane. <br />Officer Wm. 0. Weber:CHARGE:- Committing an unjustia:ble <br />assult and neglect of duty. <br />SPECIFICATIONS:- <br />in this, that he, the said Wm. 0. Weber ddd <br />on the 6th. day of SeIptember 1923. at about 2 A. M. in this city <br />assult and beet,and wound one Sam Davis, a negro, that in so doing <br />the said 'Heber, acted without justification and uded unnecessary <br />violence also that the said Weber failed and neglected to arrest <br />the said Sam Davis, for carrin.g concealed weapons.` <br />Officer John L.' Mc Cormick: CHARGE) Negleot; of Duty.' <br />SPECIFICATIONS : - Same as above. <br />The following witnesses were duly examined. <br />Sam Davis, Isaiah Holmes, and Steve Dorn. <br />The Board then went into executive session to consider <br />evidence submitted afetr a public hearing and submission of all <br />the evidence the board went into executive session for the <br />purpose of considering all the evidence submitted, and before the <br />discision of the Board and judgement was heard the men tendered <br />teir resiginations which were accepted. <br />Motion _prevailed to ajdourn: <br />PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD. <br />L �r <br />
