Burke Engineering, Ltd (CBBEL) is pleased to provide this proposal for professional engineering and planning services related to the Ireland and Miami Corridor improvements in the City of South Bend. The following is our understanding of the assignment, scope of services, and estimated fee in support of the project. UNDERSTANDING OF THE ASSIGNMENT CBBEL understands that the City is seeking assistance in the development of a Corridor Improvement project along portions of Ireland Road and Miami Street that will include an intersection improvement design at High Street and Ireland Road, and the addition of sidewalks, amulti-use path, and street lighting along Ireland Road between Miami Street and Fellows Street and sidewalk on Miami Street between Alpine and Ireland. In addition, the City is looking for parking fat design concepts for the Erskine Golf Course. The project is being proposed by the City as a means to reduce traffic congestion at the High and Ireland intersection while also improving pedestrian access and general street lighting along the corridor. SCOPE OF SERVICES Task 1 -Survey: A topographic survey to supplement existing data for the project area is anticipated to be performed by a sub consultant. A utility locate with relevant utilities will be conducted so the utilities are included in the survey. CBBEL will coordinate the design with utilities. Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd.
