19 <br />FRIDAY, September 30th, 1921. Office Board of Public <br />of Safety. Meeting called to order at 5 P.M. All members being <br />present. <br />Minutes presented and approved of previous meeting. <br />Bills presented by Chief Sibrel allowed. <br />Motion prevailed that the applications of Wm. C. Schiffer, <br />Thomas H. De Graff, Henry C. Bojewicz, Clifford J. Perkins, and Valley <br />Geo. Hepler be placed on file, petitioning for appointments as <br />firemen. <br />Bids were received and opened from the following two <br />named bidders for furnishing Fire Department with a 55 ft. service <br />truck, auto driven and a 500 gallon combination pumper and hose <br />wagon;-- <br />Colfax Company, representing the White Company of <br />Cleveland, Ohio bid $9,753.70 on 55 ft. service truck and $10,427.90 <br />on Pumper. <br />American La France Fire Engine Company df Elmira, N.Y. <br />bid $10,500.00 on service truck and $11,390.00 on Pumper. <br />Motion prevailed that the Board meet in special session <br />on October lst, 1921 at 12 o'clock noon to award said contract. <br />Supt. Beaning presented report of work done by his <br />department during week ending September 28th, 1921. <br />Motion prevailed that Police box No. 56 be removed from <br />Vassar Ave & Portage Ave to.Elwood and Portage Ave. <br />Motion prevailed that the applications of Clarence M. <br />Bowles, Casmier Hubiak, and Joe Ohonowski for appointment as police- <br />men and petition of Arthur F. Peterson for reinstatement to Police <br />Department be placed on file. <br />Officer James La Velle appeared before the board and <br />explained how accident occured at Cor. Marion & Main Sts., on <br />Sept. 24, 1921, in a collission with an automobile operated by one <br />Andrew Neddo. <br />Regular bills of Police and Electr' al Departments were <br />allowed. �J <br />Motion prevailed to ad* urn. <br />P T OF THE B D. <br />ATTEST:- - <br />C OF E . OARD. <br />SATURDAY, October lst, 1921. Special meeting called to <br />order at 12 o'clock noon. Office Board of Public Safety. <br />The Board met in special session to further consider <br />bids presented by the C lfax Company and the American La France Fire <br />Engine Company of Elmira, New York to furnish Fire Department with <br />a 55 ft. automobile driven service truck and a 500 gallon combination <br />pumper and hose wagon. <br />After considering the bids presented, the motion was made <br />that the contract be awarded to the American La .France Fire Engine <br />Company of Elmira, N.Y., for furnishing said apparati, to the Fire <br />Department, their bid being considered the best. <br />Motion prevailed to adjourn <br />PRES 'T F THE BOARD. <br />ATTEST• -' <br />LE'F L OF 1 E BOI�RD. <br />
