REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 29, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m., on Monday,.June 29, 1981, by President John E. Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan <br />present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the minutes of the June 22, 1981, regular meeting of the <br />Board were approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the following items were added to the agenda: <br />1. Request of Sollitt Construction Company for <br />temporary trailers for renovation of radiology <br />lab at Memorial Hospital and elimination of <br />parking on north side of Navarre. <br />2. Request for block party in 1800 block of <br />Wilber Street on July 4, 1981. <br />3. Request for handicapped parking space in <br />front of 130 E. Indiana. <br />APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 AND FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF <br />SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION ( HARRY H. VERKLER CONTRACTOR - FIRST BANK CENTE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Harry H. Verkler Contractor had <br />submitted Change Order No. 1 for a decrease of $3,615.00 in its <br />contract for carpentry work (No. 109) on the First Bank Center <br />for the elimination of the installation of ten doors. The revised <br />contract amount, including the change order decrease, is $5,785.00. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the construction manager, architect and <br />Mr. Patrick McMahon, Director of the Redevelopment Department, had <br />found the change order to be accurate and recomended approval. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above change order was approved, and the Certificate <br />of Substantial Completion was filed, subject to receipt of a <br />Waiver of Lien. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION (DYE PLUMBING <br />& HEATING - FIRST BANK CENTER) <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Dye Plumbing and Heating Company had <br />submitted its Certificate of Substantial Completion in the amount <br />of $89,766.94 for the plumbing work and underground sanitary and <br />storm work on the First Bank Center Project (No. 113). The <br />appropriate Waiver of Lien was attached. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />certificate was filed. <br />APPROVAL OF CONSULTING AGREEMENT FOR PARKING GARAGES (CONRAD ASSOC. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a proposal from Conrad Associates East, <br />189 West Madison Street, Chicago, Illinois, was being submitted for <br />approval for consulting services to rehabilitate and restore the <br />functional and structural integrity of the city's parking garages <br />in an amount not to exceed $25,000. Mr. Leszczynski stated that <br />certain revisions would need to be made in the consulting proposal <br />and he requested the Board to approve the proposal subject to <br />subsequent revisions he would be making. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the proposal was <br />approved subject to revisions made by Mr. Leszczynski. <br />
