REGULAR MEETING JUNE 15, 1981 <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND - DEZSO HORVATH <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak recommended approval of the Contractor's Bond <br />of Derso Horvath, retroactive to June 10, 1981. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />Contractor's Bond was approved, retroactive to June 10, 1981. <br />FILING OF MAY REPORT - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY <br />The monthly report of the St. Joseph County Humane Society for May <br />indicated <br />a total of 457 dogs handled, 317 cats and 219 miscellaneous <br />animals handled, for a total number of animals to date of 4,303. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the report was filed. <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The report indicates a total of 7 outages for the period of June 4 <br />through June 11, 1981. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the report was filed. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz submitted Claim Docket <br />No. 9782 through 10441 and recommended approval. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />report was filed and the claims approved. <br />HUMANE SOCIETY REQUEST FOR FUNDS FOR 1982 <br />Mr. John Voorde, Councilman -at- Large, was present. He advised the <br />Board that the Council has received a letter from the Humane Society <br />requesting funds for 1982. He inquired if a study was to be <br />conducted. Mr. Hill stated the city will look into what the <br />cost would be if the city were to get back in the animal control <br />business again. Mr. Voorde asked if we were to get back into the <br />business again would the Humane Society rather do it. Mr. Kernan <br />said when the Humane Society took over they did not indicate <br />strongly one way or the other about doing the animal control <br />themselves. Mr. Voorde indicated that this should be looked into <br />soon for budget purposes. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the meeting was adjourned at 10:25 a.m. <br />`7 <br />Jo n E.
