REGULAR MEETING MAY 11, 1981 <br />Start and end at Bethel College. <br />Proceed south on Logan to Jefferson and west on <br />Jefferson to Howard Park. Howard Park would be <br />used as the turn- around point and the return would <br />be via the same way. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the Police Traffic <br />Division and the South Bend Park Department for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE TEMPORARY PARKING OF DUMPSTER AT 406 EAST BROADWAY <br />Mr. Bill Watterud of Watterud Construction, 16493 Shamrock Drive, Mishawaka, <br />Indiana, requested permission from the Board to park a dumpster on the street in <br />front of 406 East Broadway while accomplishing the remodeling, and refurbishing <br />of a burned -out structure at that address. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was approved, subject to the <br />placement by Mr. Watterud of ISHC Type I flasher barricades at both ends of the <br />dumpster. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (1806 SOUTH JACKSON STREET <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Charles Lenya, 1810 South Jackson Street, inquired <br />into the purchase of a city -owned lot located at 1806 Jackson Street. It was <br />noted that the property at 1806 South Jackson Street was homestead property owned <br />by the Bureau of Housing and the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs and that <br />the building had been demolished and the Bureau of Housing was now interested in <br />selling the vacant lot. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the various city agencies for <br />a determination as to whether or not the city need retain the lot for any reason. <br />APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS <br />A request from the Nieghborhood Code Enforcement Office was received for permission <br />to have city environmental crews clean the following lots within the city: <br />1911 South Franklin <br />1417 South High <br />211 East Fox <br />2107 South Kendall <br />443 South Kosciuszko <br />1322 East Indiana <br />1313 Liston <br />Vacant lot between 511 & <br />521 East Bronson <br />1817 Prairie <br />1046 East Miner <br />1325 East Miner <br />1100 Prairie <br />1303 South Franklin <br />1502 South Scott <br />609 South Wellington <br />1508 South Scott <br />310 East South <br />312 East South <br />1420 O'Brien <br />It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had <br />failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following <br />handicapped parking permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />Office for issuance: <br />Williard W. Kruszewski, 2413 Prairie Avenue <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />Certificate of Insurance for LaFree Excavating Company was filed. <br />
