REGULAR MEETING MAY 11, 1981 Start and end at Bethel College. Proceed south on Logan to Jefferson and west on Jefferson to Howard Park. Howard Park would be used as the turn- around point and the return would be via the same way. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the Police Traffic Division and the South Bend Park Department for review and recommendation. APPROVE TEMPORARY PARKING OF DUMPSTER AT 406 EAST BROADWAY Mr. Bill Watterud of Watterud Construction, 16493 Shamrock Drive, Mishawaka, Indiana, requested permission from the Board to park a dumpster on the street in front of 406 East Broadway while accomplishing the remodeling, and refurbishing of a burned -out structure at that address. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was approved, subject to the placement by Mr. Watterud of ISHC Type I flasher barricades at both ends of the dumpster. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (1806 SOUTH JACKSON STREET In a letter to the Board, Mr. Charles Lenya, 1810 South Jackson Street, inquired into the purchase of a city -owned lot located at 1806 Jackson Street. It was noted that the property at 1806 South Jackson Street was homestead property owned by the Bureau of Housing and the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs and that the building had been demolished and the Bureau of Housing was now interested in selling the vacant lot. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the various city agencies for a determination as to whether or not the city need retain the lot for any reason. APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS A request from the Nieghborhood Code Enforcement Office was received for permission to have city environmental crews clean the following lots within the city: 1911 South Franklin 1417 South High 211 East Fox 2107 South Kendall 443 South Kosciuszko 1322 East Indiana 1313 Liston Vacant lot between 511 & 521 East Bronson 1817 Prairie 1046 East Miner 1325 East Miner 1100 Prairie 1303 South Franklin 1502 South Scott 609 South Wellington 1508 South Scott 310 East South 312 East South 1420 O'Brien It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was approved. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance: Williard W. Wilkinson, 1407 East.Monroe Street Kester D. King, 115 Parkwood Walter L. Shilts, 2118 Rockne Drive Lucy M. Hillaert, 1623 S. West St., Mishawaka, IN George H. Kruszewski, 2413 Prairie Avenue FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for LaFree Excavating Company was filed.
