REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 20, 1981 <br />Wang Laboratories, Inc. Bid was signed by Thomas V. Reilly, <br />702 North Michigan Street non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />South Bend, Indiana and a certified check was submitted <br />System 20 WP System Master and Dual Diskette Drive <br />Purchase Price: $16,800.00 <br />60 -month Lease: 748.00 <br />Monthly Service: 120.00 <br />Freight: 180.00 <br />Mr. Crone advised that the bid of Business Communication Center,.1501 <br />North Ironwood Drive, had been submitted unsigned and he recommended <br />that the Board reject the bid for that reason. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the unsigned <br />bid of Business Communication Center was rejected. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above bids were referred to the CETA Office for review and award <br />of the bid. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the CETA Consortium would <br />be responsible for the award of the bid. <br />APPROVE INTENDED USE OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS <br />This was the date set for holding a public hearing on the proposed <br />use of revenue sharing funds in the amount of $20,000.00 during the <br />calendar year 1981. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. Mr. Leszczynski noted that this was <br />the public hearing on the proposed use of revenue sharing funds <br />as follows: <br />$10,000.O0 Alternative fuel conversion <br />10,000.00 1981 Ethnic Festival <br />In accordance with guidelines adopted for such use of revenue sharing <br />funds, information about this public hearing was forwarded to the <br />following senior citizen groups with the request that the notice <br />be posted: Foster Grandparents, Hansel Neighborhood Center, REAL <br />Services, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Senior Citizens of <br />LaSalle Park. There was no one present to speak against the proposed <br />expenditure. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the public hearing was closed and the Clerk was <br />instructed to forward the minutes of this public hearing to the <br />Controller's Office and the City Clerk. <br />APPROVAL OF ANNUAL WORLD'S LARGEST GARAGE SALE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request received by the Board at its April 13th meeting <br />for permission to hold the Annual World's Largest Garage Sale on <br />Saturday, June 13, 1981, at the Colfax Parking Garage from 10:00 a.m. <br />to 4:00 p.m. was approved based upon the favorable recommendation of <br />the City Controller. <br />APPROVE SALE OF DAMAGED POLICE VEHICLE <br />Police Chief Dan Thompson requested permission from the Board to sell <br />a damaged 1974 Ford, Mechanical Vehicle No. 735, which was presently <br />assigned to the Special Operations Section. In his letter to the <br />Board, the chief indicated that the vehicle had been involved in <br />a non- injury accident on April 3, 1981, and it had been determined <br />it would cost the city too much money to have it repaired. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the request was approved. <br />
