REGULAR MEETING MARCH 12, 2007 <br />family have been responsible citizens and own a business in the Northeast Neighborhood <br />for over forty (40) years. It is detrimental to try to find that middle ground for business <br />and neighborhoods to get along in the City of South Bend. Council President Rouse <br />stated that the Council should just give up granting any Special Exceptions, if they cannot <br />come together to grant this tonight based on the residential and economic issue that have <br />been mentioned. The Council has a responsibility to this Community to look at all the <br />issues and stand firm and make decisions based on what is best for this Community. <br />Councilmember Dieter made a motion to adopt this bill. Councilmember White <br />seconded the motion, which carried by a roll call vote of five (5) (Kelly, Kuspa, White, <br />Dieter, Rouse) four (4) nays (Pfeifer, Puzzello, Varner, Kirsits) <br />BILL NO. 07-25 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE <br />ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br />AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 511 EAST <br />COLFAX AVENUE AND 210 NORTH NILES <br />AVENUE AS AN ECONOMIC <br />REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF <br />A (4) FOUR-YEAR REAL PROPERTY TAX <br />ABATEMENT FOR ODYSSIAN <br />TECHONOLOGY <br />BILL NO. 07-26 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE <br />ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br />AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 511 EAST <br />COLFAX AVENUE AND 210 NORTH NILES <br />AVENUE TO BE AN ECONOMIC <br />REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF <br />A (5) FIVE-YEAR PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX <br />ABATEMENT FOR ODYSSIAN TECHNOLOGY <br />Councilmember Varner made a motion to continue Bill Nos. 07-25 and 07-26 indefinitely <br />at the request of the petitioner. Councilmember Dieter seconded the motion which <br />carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3719-07 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE <br />ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br />AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 129 <br />NORTH MICHIGAN STREET AS AN <br />ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR <br />PURPOSES OF A (6) SIX-YEAR REAL <br />PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR MHM <br />REALTY, LLC, TRIO'S RESTAURANT <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has <br />adopted a Declaratory Resolution designating certain areas within the City as Economic <br />Revitalization Areas for the purpose of tax abatement consideration; and <br />WHEREAS, a Declaratory Resolution designated the area commonly known as <br />MHM Realty, LLC, South Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly described as <br />follows: <br />20 <br />
