REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 2, 1981 FILING OF REQUEST AND PETITIONS FOR SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION AND TRAFFIC SIGNS ON MIAMI STREET The National Spinal Cord Injury Foundation submitted petitions to the Board containing numerous signatures of Fairington Apartment residents for the construction of sidewalk and new traffic signs along Miami Road from the Fairington Apartments to the Broadmoor Shopping Center. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the petitions were referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3504, 1981 (HARTER HEIGHTS 2nd ADDITION) John E. Leszczynski, City Engineer, filed an Assessment Roll with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3504, 1981, for the vacation of the first east -west alley north of St. Vincent, running from the easterly right -of -way line of Niles Avenue to the west right -of -way line of St. Joseph for an approximate distance of 200 feet in Harter Heights Addition. The following property may be injuriously or bene- ficially affected by such vacation: Lots No. 140, 144 and 145, Harter Heights 2nd Addition The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits to the abutting properties. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Assessment Roll was filed and set for public hearing on March 2, 1981.' REQUEST FOR PARADE - KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS The Knights of Columbus submitted a request to the Board for a march to be held in conjunction with a'conference in the spring which would be held at the Quality Inn. The march would be held on Saturday, April 4, 1981, starting at the Quality Inn at 2:45 p.m and proceeding west on Wayne Street to St. Patrick's Church. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following traffic control devices were approved as recommended by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: REVISE TO NO PARKING - Between 1134 -1142 Mishawaka Ave. INSTALL THROUGH TRUCKS PROHIBITED - Crestwood from Edison to Hepler. INSTALL STOP SIGN - Alley intersecting 700 Portage Ct. APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS A request from the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was received for permission to have city environmental crews clean the following lots within the city: ADDRESS CONDITION N. side - 1600 block Dunham Litter, junk, garbage & trash 133 S. Chicago Appliances, junk 113 N. Chicago Litter, appliances, door 422 S. Bendix Litter, tires, etc. 903 Fairway Brush 3015 Western Ave. Storm window, litter, furniture, spring, mattress 1422 Lincolnway West Litter, uncollected garbage, trash It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, 1
