REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 2, 1981 <br />FILING OF REQUEST AND PETITIONS FOR SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION <br />AND TRAFFIC SIGNS ON MIAMI STREET <br />The National Spinal Cord Injury Foundation submitted petitions to <br />the Board containing numerous signatures of Fairington Apartment <br />residents for the construction of sidewalk and new traffic signs <br />along Miami Road from the Fairington Apartments to the Broadmoor <br />Shopping Center. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the petitions were referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Engineering Department for review <br />and recommendation. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3504, 1981 <br />(HARTER HEIGHTS 2nd ADDITION) <br />John E. Leszczynski, City Engineer, filed an Assessment Roll with <br />respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3504, 1981, for the vacation of <br />the first east -west alley north of St. Vincent, running from the <br />easterly right -of -way line of Niles Avenue to the west right -of -way <br />line of St. Joseph for an approximate distance of 200 feet in Harter <br />Heights Addition. The following property may be injuriously or bene- <br />ficially affected by such vacation: <br />Lots No. 140, 144 and 145, Harter Heights 2nd Addition <br />The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits <br />to the abutting properties. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Assessment Roll was filed and <br />set for public hearing on March 2, 1981.' <br />REQUEST FOR PARADE - KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS <br />The Knights of Columbus submitted a request to the Board for a <br />march to be held in conjunction with a'conference in the spring <br />which would be held at the Quality Inn. The march would be held <br />on Saturday, April 4, 1981, starting at the Quality Inn at 2:45 p.m <br />and proceeding west on Wayne Street to St. Patrick's Church. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following traffic control devices were approved as <br />recommended by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />REVISE TO NO PARKING - Between 1134 -1142 Mishawaka Ave. <br />INSTALL THROUGH TRUCKS PROHIBITED - Crestwood from Edison <br />to Hepler. <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - Alley intersecting 700 Portage Ct. <br />APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS <br />A request from the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was <br />received for permission to have city environmental crews clean <br />the following lots within the city: <br />ADDRESS <br />CONDITION <br />N. side - 1600 block Dunham Litter, junk, garbage & trash <br />133 S. Chicago Appliances, junk <br />113 N. Chicago Litter, appliances, door <br />422 S. Bendix Litter, tires, etc. <br />903 Fairway Brush <br />3015 Western Ave. Storm window, litter, furniture, <br />spring, mattress <br />1422 Lincolnway West Litter, uncollected garbage, trash <br />It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the <br />lots and had failed to comply.
