REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 13, 1980 the interior streets within the facility had been requested by the city since these facilities do not meet current city codes for public rights of way. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the petition was referred to the Engineering Department, the Department of Community Development and the Area Plan Commission for preliminary review and recommendation. APPROVE ACQUISITION OF VEHICLE (POLICE DEPARTMENT) Police Chief Dan Thompson advised the Board that the city had received $9,400.00 in funds for the recent sale of old police vehicles, and he was desirous of purchasing a van to be used as a paddywagon since the present van was in need of numerous repairs. He had obtained quotes of $7,071.78 by Gurley -Leep Buick for a 1980 Dodge van, $6,171.00 for a one -half ton 1980 Chevrolet and $6,075.00 for a three- quarter ton 1980 Chevrolet van from L. 0. Gates, Mishawaka. The Chief requested concurrence by the Board of the purchase of the van from L. 0. Gates in the amount of $6,075.00 and the assignment of Vehicle No. 720 to the van. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, approval was given. APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following traffic control device was approved upon the recom- mendation of Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: INSTALL NO PARKING WITHIN 15 FT. OF PAVEMENT - E. side of Mayflower Road, from 100' south of Scenic to 200' north of Scenic. FILING OF INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION RESOLUTION - S.R. 23 AND INDIANA AVENUE (CONTROLLED TURNING MOVEMENTS Mr. McMahon advised that the Board had previously approved on September 8, 1980, turning movements at the above intersection. A copy of the official action by the state concurring in the turn - ing controls was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the agreement was filed. APPROVAL OF HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance: Loren Robbins, 309 Pin Oak Circle, Mishawaka Vivian P. Fisher, 909 Riverside, South Bend Delphine Stephenson, 52701 Quince Rd., South Bend Lynn H. Dee, 840 Prairie Ave., South Bend FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following Certificates of Insurance were filed: South Bend- Mishawaka Chamber of Commerce 230 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, Indiana Arrow Services, Inc. 1815 North Michigan Street Plymouth, Indiana
