REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 13, 1980 <br />the interior streets within the facility had been requested by the <br />city since these facilities do not meet current city codes for <br />public rights of way. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the petition was referred to the Engineering <br />Department, the Department of Community Development and the Area <br />Plan Commission for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE ACQUISITION OF VEHICLE (POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />Police Chief Dan Thompson advised the Board that the city had <br />received $9,400.00 in funds for the recent sale of old police <br />vehicles, and he was desirous of purchasing a van to be used as <br />a paddywagon since the present van was in need of numerous repairs. <br />He had obtained quotes of $7,071.78 by Gurley -Leep Buick for a <br />1980 Dodge van, $6,171.00 for a one -half ton 1980 Chevrolet and <br />$6,075.00 for a three- quarter ton 1980 Chevrolet van from L. 0. <br />Gates, Mishawaka. The Chief requested concurrence by the Board <br />of the purchase of the van from L. 0. Gates in the amount of <br />$6,075.00 and the assignment of Vehicle No. 720 to the van. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />approval was given. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the following traffic control device was approved upon the recom- <br />mendation of Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting: <br />INSTALL NO PARKING WITHIN 15 FT. OF PAVEMENT - <br />E. side of Mayflower Road, from 100' south of <br />Scenic to 200' north of Scenic. <br />FILING OF INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION RESOLUTION - <br />S.R. 23 AND INDIANA AVENUE (CONTROLLED TURNING MOVEMENTS <br />Mr. McMahon advised that the Board had previously approved on <br />September 8, 1980, turning movements at the above intersection. <br />A copy of the official action by the state concurring in the turn - <br />ing controls was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the agreement was filed. <br />APPROVAL OF HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the following handicapped parking permits were approved and referred <br />to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance: <br />Loren Robbins, 309 Pin Oak Circle, Mishawaka <br />Vivian P.
