REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 15, 1980 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the revised route was approved as recommended by the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting., <br />APPROVE PARKING ON BENDIX DRIVE (SIMON BROTHERS) <br />A request from Simon Brothers, Inc., 1901 Bendix Drive, for per- <br />mission to allow on- street parking privileges for its upcoming <br />Food Show on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, 1980, <br />was received from Mr. Don T. Simon, Director of Operations. Mr. <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended that, due to the speed limit on Bendix Drive and the <br />width of the roadway, parking privileges be allowed on the west <br />side of Bendix only in the vicinity of the Simon Brothers Plant <br />in the Industrial Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the request to allow parking on the west <br />side of Bendix Drive for the food show was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the following traffic control devices were approved: <br />Installation of 30 -mile speed limit - Orange Street <br />from Colfax to Meade <br />Installation of 30 -mile speed limit Colfax, LaPorte <br />to Orange <br />Installation of traffic signals - Colfax and LaPorte <br />Installation of traffic signals - Olive and Orange <br />Installation of no parking - both sides of LaSalle Street, <br />and LaSalle Street "Extension" from Colfax to a point <br />approximately 150' east of LaPorte <br />Installation of no parking - on "east" side of LaPorte <br />Avenue on the approach to and exit from it intersection <br />with LaSalle Avenue <br />Installation of no parking - Olive and Orange intersection <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the above traffic control devices were all in <br />conjunction with the Orange /Colfax Connector. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the following traffic control devices were approved: <br />Installation of no parking (temporary) this side - <br />West side of Kosciusko from Dunham to Sample <br />(9 -9 -80 to 9- 19 -80) <br />Installation of stop sign - on Kosciusko at Dunham <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES <br />A request from Mr. Robert Hennesey, 216 East Dayton Street, was <br />received inquiring into the possible purchase of city -owned <br />properties located at 1813 South Carroll Street and 209 East Dayton. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request was referred to.the various city agencies for a determ- <br />ination as to whether or not the city should retain the properties <br />for any reason. <br />APPROVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS <br />A request from the Environmental /Action Center was received for <br />permission to have city environmental crews clean the following <br />lots within the city: <br />
