REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 4. 1980 <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3492, 1980 <br />(HIGH INDUSTRIAL PARK SUBDIVISION) <br />Patrick M. McMahon, P.E., Civil City Engineer,.filed an Assessment <br />Roll with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3492, 1980, for the <br />vacation of a 20' and 14' alley that runs northwesterly off of <br />High Street, 33' south of Sample Street for a distance of 250' <br />more or less, in the N.E. (4) of Section 13, Township 37 North, <br />Range 2 East in the City of South Bend, Indiana. - The following <br />property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: <br />High Industrial Park <br />The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits <br />to the abutting properties. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Assessment Roll was filed <br />and set for public hearing on September 8, 1980. <br />APPROVE TEMPORARY TRAILER- 1631 SOUTH CHAPIN STREET <br />Mr. Robert Spicher, 801 North Nappanee Street, Nappanee, Indiana, <br />requested permission to set up a temporary trailer to be used as <br />a work office at 1631 South Chapin Street as soon as possible <br />and until December 31, 1980. His letter indicated that he would <br />be doing certain remodeling work on the home at that location. <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the Building Department had recommended <br />approval of the request. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,.the request to set up a temporary <br />trailer through December 31, 1980, was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY '(1800 NORTH COLLEGE) <br />A request for a block party from the residents in the 1800 block <br />of North College on Sunday, August 24, 1980, from.noon until <br />midnight was received by the Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Traffic <br />Division of the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE CLOSING OF CHAPIN STREET BETWEEN CALVERT AND <br />BRUCE (OUR LADY OF HUNGARY) <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended the closing of Chapin Street between Calvert <br />and Bruce for Our Lady of Hungary's Annual Fun Fair to be held on <br />Saturday, August 23, 1980, from 8:00 a.m, until midnight. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconced by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />request was approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY - SOUTH STREET <br />A favorable recommendation was received from the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for block party to be held on South Street, from <br />the alley up to the island on South Street, on Saturday, August <br />16, 1980, beginning at 3:00 p.m. (rain date of August 17th). Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the request was approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY - BELMONT STREET <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended Board approval of the request of Louis Seago <br />for a block party on Belmont Street, from the intersection at <br />Sunnyside west to the second alley, on Sunday, August 24, 1980, <br />from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (rain date of August 25th from 6:00 p.m. <br />to 10:00 p.m.). Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Kernan and carried, the block party was approved. <br />
