After a Notre Dame Women's Basketball Game p on November 5th, two Washington High School students helped to resuscitate a woman who was unconscious and struggling to breathe. Using training that they had learned in the classroom, Lauren Miller and Malcolm White performed CPR on the woman until paramedics arrived. Congratulations to these two young heroes who helped to save a life. As part of ! Mayor Luecke's Clean City initiative, South Bend offers recycling for all ! i natural Christmas trees at Organic Resources. All trees are recycled into high quality mulch, which is provided, free, to South Bend residents. • Drop -off - Dec. 28 through Thursday, Jan. 15, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. I I i Guidelines for Snow Removal i I • It is the responsibility of the owner or occupant of any premises on any city street to remove snow and ice from the public sidewalk within 24 hours I after snow or ice has accumulated. • If an owner or occupant fails to comply, the City I may remove snow and ice after giving the owner or occupant 24 hours written notice. The owner or occupant will then be responsible for the cost of i removal. The Dept. of Code Enforcement works with the Police Dept. to make sure abandoned vehicles are removed from city streets, especially during the I winter months. Abandoned vehicles are hazardous and obstruct snow removal crews from clearing streets for the safety of emergency I vehicles and the general public.
