White, ,Sponsor of the Youth Advisory Council, 235 -9321 <br />January 17, 2011 9:30 A.M. <br />The South Bend City Council invites high school students and graduates up to 21 years of age to <br />apply to become members of the Youth Advisory Council for the 2011 school year. <br />Since 2004, South Bend high school students have had the opportunity to: <br />• Interact with school and governmental officials first -hand <br />• Enhance their citizenship skills by meeting with elected and appointed public officials to <br />exchangeideas <br />• Serve the best interests of youth in South Bend <br />• Initiate and participate in activities such as youth projects, attending City Council <br />meetings, city board and commission meetings, hosting seminars and developing other <br />youth initiatives <br />• Have the opportunity to work closely with the Council Member who appoints the youth <br />representative <br />Application forms and related materials may be downloaded from the City of South Bend <br />website.littp://www.souti-ibendiii.,t,n/ beginning TODAY, Monday, January 1.7, 201.1; and all <br />required information must be filed with the Office of the City Clerk by Monday, January 31, <br />2011. <br />High School Students selected to serve on the 2011 Youth Advisory Council will be <br />officially sworn in at an upcoming meeting of the South Bend Common Council. <br />The South Bend City Council is looking forward to working with enthusiastic and dedicated <br />youth from our community in an action -filled year.
