BILL NO. <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CI'T'Y OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10044-10, WHICH FIXED MAXIMUM <br />WAGES OF TEAMSTER EMPLOYEES FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2011, TO APPROVE <br />TEAMSTER EMPLOYEE WAGES FOR 2012 AND 2013 <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />Ordinance No. 10044 -10 was passed by the South Bend Common Council in its second <br />substitute version on September 30, 2010 during a time when labor wage negotiations were <br />ongoing but not concluded between the City and its Teamster employees. On or around <br />November 30. 2010, the Teamsters' union members ratified wages for calendar years 2011, <br />2012, and 2013. This ordinance does not alter the Teamster Employee wages for 2011 approved <br />by Ordinanec 10044 -10, nor does it amend any other terms of Ordinance 10044 -10. It simply <br />approves Teamster wage rates for 2012 and 2013 pursuant to the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement between South Bend and its Teamsters' Union employees which was ratified by the <br />Union on November 30, 2010. <br />Consistent with the intent of Ordinance No. 10044 -10, the wage provision of which takes <br />effect January 1, 2011, this ordinance shall be effective as of January 1, 2011. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA as follows: <br />Section I. Section 1. of Ordinance No. 10044 -10 shall be amended to read as follows: <br />Section 1. Maximum Compensation <br />(a) The maximum amounts to be paid as compensation for Teamster <br />employees for the City of South Bend, Indiana are hereby established <br />as set forth in the attachment, which is incorporated herein by <br />reference. The amounts set forth are consistent with the recommended <br />procedure of the State Board of Accounts dated March, 1993. <br />Accordingly, wages are set and paid on a Bi- Weekly basis. Amounts <br />by department and alphabetical position are set forth as well as the <br />hourly wage for each position for calendar years 201 „1 - through 2013. <br />Section 11. All other terms and conditions of Ordinance No. 10044 -10 as set forth in <br />Section 11 of that ordinance which provides for "Holidays, Vacations and other Monetary and <br />Fringe Benefits” are incorporated herein by reference. <br />
