South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — December 17, 2010 <br />3. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS (CONT.) <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by Mr. Alford <br />and unanimously carried, the Commission approved the <br />Claims submitted December 17, 2010, and ordered <br />checks to be released. <br />4. COMMUNICATIONS <br />A. Communication from Kenna Restoration & <br />Construction Inc. <br />Ms. Jones noted that the Commission had received <br />a communication from Kemna Restoration <br />requesting to be given opportunity to bid on <br />restoration and construction projects. She noted <br />that the city seldom does restoration work itself, <br />she said staff will provide Kemna's name to <br />developers who ask. <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />There was no Old Business. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) Resolution No. 2804 related to acquisition <br />of property in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (306 W. Monroe, <br />Michiana Lock & Key) <br />Mr. Relos noted that the former Seifer Safe <br />& Lock at 306 W. Monroe was added to the <br />South Bend Central Development Area List <br />of Properties to be Acquired in 1985 in an <br />ambitious acquisition attempt to acquire <br />both vacant and occupied land in the block <br />bounded by South St., Taylor, Western and <br />Lafayette. The land was assembled for <br />development of the Stanley Coveleski <br />Regional Baseball Stadium. <br />5 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE CLAIMS <br />SUBMITTED DECEMBER 17, 2010, AND ORDERED <br />THE CHECKS TO BE RELEASED <br />COMMUNICATION FROM KEMNA RESTORATION <br />& CONSTRUCTION INC. <br />THERE WAS NO OLD BUSINESS <br />
