SBBPC <br />OUTH END OARD OF ARK OMMISSIONERS <br />RM <br />EGULAR EETING <br />O18,2010 <br />CTOBER <br /> <br />The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br />Monday October 18, 2010 at the O’Brien Administration & Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter St., <br />South Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date, time and place of the meeting <br />were duly given as required by law. <br /> <br />Park Board members present were as follows: <br />Mr. Robert Goodrich, Vice President <br />Dr. Thomas Kelly <br />Mr. Garrett Mullins <br /> <br />Park Board members absent were as follows: <br />Mr. Robert Henry, President <br /> <br />Staff members present: Phil St. Clair, Superintendent; Betsy Harriman, Administrative Director; <br />Susan O’Connor, Recreation Director; Randy Nowacki, Director of Golf Operations; Terry <br />DeRosa, Zoo Director; Richard Payton, Development Director; Mike Dyszkiewicz, Maintenance <br />Superintendent; Thomas Bodnar, Park Board Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />I.The meeting was called to order by Board Vice President Robert Goodrich at 4:04 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />II.The first order of business was the interviewing of interested citizens. <br /> <br />There were no citizens wishing to speak. <br /> <br /> <br />III.The next order of business was unfinished business. <br /> <br />There was no unfinished business. <br /> <br /> <br />IV.The next order of business was new business. <br /> <br />1. Request to Approve Celtic Events for 2011- Paula Garis <br />Ms. Garis requested that the Board approve two events. The first is a concert that is <br />held as part of the East Race Concert Series on Sunday July 24, 2011. Fiddler’s Hearth <br />is sponsoring the bands and dancers, as well as selling food and beverages. The concert <br />will be open and free to the public. <br />Secondly is the Michiana Celtic Festival to be held in Howard Park on Sunday <br />September 4, 2011. The first Celtic Festival was held this year and 3,000 people <br />attended. This is also sponsored by Fiddler’s Hearth. A $5 entrance fee will be charged <br />to cover expenses. <br />Dr. Kelly made a motion to approve the events as presented. Mr. Mullins seconded the <br />motion and it was approved. <br /> - - 1 - - <br /> <br /> <br />
