IM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 29, 1979 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 1979 by President Patrick 11. <br />McMahon,,,` with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. McMahon reported that the minutes of the January 22, 1979 <br />meeting had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes <br />be approved as submitted. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and <br />it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES, POLICE DEPART14ENT AND .JAIL <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for Janitorial Services <br />for the Police Department and Jail for 1979. The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri- County News which, were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Maintenance Systems Corporation Bid was signed by Richard W. <br />P. 0. Box 6125 .–Johnson, non- collusion affidavit <br />South Bend, Indiana was in order and a certified <br />check was submitted. <br />Bid - $19,800.00 <br />Servicemaster Building Services Bid was signed by Matthew Hopman, <br />P. 0. Box 85 non- collusion affidavit was in <br />Elkhart, Indiana order and a certified check was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - $15,591.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to John Stancati, Director of <br />Utilities, and Joseph Gawrysiak, Director, Division of Transportation, <br />for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - TURNOUT COATS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for Turnout Coats for <br />the Fire Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri - County News which were <br />found to be sufficient.
