M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 2, 1979 <br />C. Revise Yield Sign to Stop Sign on Northwood at Rockne because <br />of increased use by pedestrians and present disregard of <br />yield signs. <br />D. Revise Stop to 4 -Way Stop at Diamond and Vassar, as warranted <br />by accident rate since 1973. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED.- TYPEWRITER MAINTENANCE <br />Michael L. Vance, Chief Deputy City Controller, <br />Board specifications for typewriter maintenance <br />for 1979 and requested that the Board advertise <br />sealed bids to be received on January 15. Upon <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carrie <br />the request and directed the Clerk to advertise <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />submitted to the <br />for City offices <br />for bids, with <br />motion made by <br />3, the Board approved <br />for bids. <br />Michael L. Vance, Chief Deputy City Controller, submitted to the <br />Board Claim Docket Numbers 24484 through 35417 and recommended <br />approval. Upon motion made by,Mr. McMahon., seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Board approved Claim Docket-Numbers 24484 through <br />35417 and directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />FILING OF YEARLY REPORT OF TRASH AND WEED CONTROL PROGRAM <br />The yearly report of the Trash and Weed Control Program was submitted <br />to the Board by Ed Nowak, Foreman. The report indicated 258 properties <br />cleaned by order of the Board of Works, 60 on the request of the <br />Environmental Protection Office and note&425`loads,'to the dump from <br />complaints processed, 21 loads from the city- wide clean -up and 80 <br />loads from the summer crew. In addition, work was done to clean snow <br />off downtown crosswalks, plow city -owned parking lots, patch streets, <br />clean islands and viaducts, pick up bagged leaves, weed cutting on <br />city -owned lots and control of the summer youth and clean -up crew. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the report was ordered filed. <br />CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE FILED <br />Certificates of Insurance from Cole Associates, Inc. and E. L. <br />Zimmerman Company were submitted to the Board. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the certificates <br />were ordered filed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period December 12 through <br />December 24 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated <br />thirty -nine outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />
