337 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 18, 1978 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 1978 by President Patrick M. <br />McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present and Mr. Mullen <br />absent. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the December 11 meeting <br />had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be <br />approved as submitted. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - LEASE /PURCHASE OF COPY EQUIPMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the Lease /Purchase <br />of Copy Equipment for the Bureau of Housing. The Clerk,tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />St. John's Business Machines - Notification received that they were <br />not bidding the project <br />Addressograph- Multigraph - Notification received that they were not <br />bidding the project. <br />IBM Corporation Bid was signed by C. David Moore, <br />South Bend, Indiana non- collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted.. <br />Bid - Series III Copier - Monthly Charge - $535.57 (15,000 copies) <br />Collator 99.39 <br />Attachment 4.82 <br />Purchase Option - $25,620.00 <br />Less Purchase Accruals $ 5,620.00 <br />Total $19,863.75 <br />Xerox Corporation Bid was signed by Robert Alexander, <br />non- collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a certified check was submitted. <br />Bid - 5400 Duplicator - Monthly Charge - $ 525.00 per month (16,000 copies) <br />Placement Charge 115.00 <br />20 Bin Sorter 48.00 <br />Option - 4500 Monthly Charge - $430.00 per month (10,175 copies) <br />Placement Charge 110.00 <br />Option - 4000 Monthly Charge ­$270.00 per month (7,610 copies) <br />Placement Charge 85.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried <br />the bids were referred to the Bureau of Housing and the Controller's <br />Office for review and recommendation. <br />TAXICAB LICENSE APPROVED - JEFFREY HART14AN <br />This was the date set for a hearing on the denial of a taxicab <br />license for Jeffrey Hartman. Mr. Hartman was present. Jerry Works <br />of the St. Joseph County CETA Office.was present. Mr. Works said he <br />was not speaking in his capacity as a CETA officer but did get to <br />know Mr. Hartman through the.State Department of Corrections. He <br />presented to the Board a letter from Harry Hegman, State Parole <br />
