REGULAR <br />MEETING <br />DECEMBER 4, 1978 <br />3 211) <br />REQUEST <br />TO ADVERTISE <br />FOR BIDS FOR COPY MACHINE APPROVED <br />James Harcus, Director of the Bureau of Housing, submitted to the <br />Board specifications for the lease /purchase of. copying equipment <br />for the Bureau of Housing and requested that the Board advertise <br />for bids. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request and directed <br />that the Clerk advertise for bids, with sealed bids to be received <br />on December 18, 1978. <br />RESOLUTION FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY APPROVED <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone submitted to the Board a resolution <br />prepared for filing with the Common Council authorizing the sale <br />of city -owned property to adjacent - property owners for $1.00. <br />The resolution specifies that properties listed on Exhibit A, as <br />attached, can be sold by the Board of Public Works, following a <br />review by various City Departments that the lot is not needed <br />for any purpose, to adjacent property owners. The entire lot can <br />be purchased by an adjacent property owner who had on file with <br />the Board of Public Works on or before-December 4, 1978 a written <br />request for the purchase. The Board can sell those properties for <br />which a written application is filed with the Board by an adjacent <br />property owner no later than sixty.(60) days from the effective date <br />of the resolution. In the event that both adjacent property owners <br />file written application to purchase, a'lot prior to the expiration <br />date of the sixty =day period; -the-° bt "will be divided and one -half will <br />be sold to each interested property owner. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the resolution <br />was approved and ordered filed with the Common Council. <br />APPROVAL OF DESIGNATED SNOW ROUTES <br />Patrick M. McMahon, P. E., Civil City Engineer, advised the Board <br />that a list of designated snow routes and a map of those routes <br />has been prepared and will be filed with the Board today. The <br />snow routes have been revised and additions made in conformity with <br />the Council ordinance. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the designated snow <br />routes as submitted. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED PARKING SPACE FROM WOODY MAXIE <br />Woody Maxie was present and advised the Board that he had submitted <br />a second request for a designated handicapped parking space on <br />Wayne Street, east of Main Street and understood it was being <br />denied. He asked that the Board reconsider his request. Mr. McMahon <br />noted that the Board had adopted guidelines for the designation of <br />handicapped parking spaces based on the ordinance passed by the <br />Common Council and it was interpreted that designated parking spaces <br />for parking for employment was not included in the ordinance <br />The Board has been contacted by Council President Roger Parent <br />and a meeting will be held to discuss the matter. The results of <br />that meeting will be available at the next Board meeting. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Mr. Mullen reported to the Board that he had an amendment to <br />the Agreement with the South Bend Community School Corporation <br />to be considered. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the item was added to the agenda. <br />
