REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 4, 1978 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 1978.by President Patrick McMahon <br />with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City <br />Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the November 27 meeting, <br />had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes'be approved <br />as submitted. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for Gasoline and Fuel <br />Oil for the City of South Bend for 1979. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids <br />were opened and publicly read: <br />Remco Oil Company <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />325 <br />Bid was signed by Rick E. Newman, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - 70,000 <br />Gals. <br />Regular Gas - Tank Wagon <br />$0.498 <br />per <br />gallon <br />480,000 <br />Gals. <br />Regular Gas - Tank Wagon <br />$0.465 <br />per <br />gallon <br />650,000 <br />Gals. <br />Leadfree Gas- Transport <br />$.502 <br />per <br />gallon <br />130,000 <br />Gals. <br />#2 Diesel Fuel -Tank Wagon <br />$.454 <br />per <br />gallon <br />130,000 <br />Gals. <br />#2 Diesel Fuel - Transport <br />$.425 <br />per <br />gallon <br />2,000 <br />Gals. <br />Premier Diesel - Tank Wagon <br />$.519 <br />per <br />gallon <br />Murphy -Miles Division Bid was signed by L. LaCroix, Sales <br />Amoco Oil Company Manager, non - collusion affidavit was <br />Hillside, Illinois in order and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone noted that the.company submitted a <br />bid bond instead of a certified check. A company representative was <br />present and advised the Board that the company's principal supply <br />depot is located at Whiting,,Indiana and deliveries will be made from <br />Whiting. <br />Bid - 200,000 Gals. #2 Fuel Oil at $39.117 per gal. - $78,234.00 <br />Amoco Oil Company <br />Detroit, Michigan <br />Bid was signed by C. A. Twigg, non - <br />collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone noted that the company submitted a <br />bid bond instead of a certified check and the bid was sent from Michigan. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon,, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board determined that the bid could be considered if a certified <br />check is submitted within forty -eight hours. <br />Bid - 550,000 Gals. <br />650,000 Gals. <br />260,000 Gals. <br />Texaco, Inc. <br />Smith Petroleum Com <br />Fort Wayne, Indiana <br />Regular Gasoline - <br />Leadfree Gasoline - <br />Furnace Oil <br />Bid <br />pany non <br />and <br />44.71 per gal. <br />47.59 per gal. <br />2 % . 70t per gal. <br />was signed by Michael B.
