REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 4, 1978 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 1978.by President Patrick McMahon with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. MINUTES APPROVED Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the November 27 meeting, had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes'be approved as submitted. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. OPENING OF BIDS - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL This was the date set for receiving bids for Gasoline and Fuel Oil for the City of South Bend for 1979. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Remco Oil Company South Bend, Indiana 325 Bid was signed by Rick E. Newman, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Bid - 70,000 Gals. Regular Gas - Tank Wagon $0.498 per gallon 480,000 Gals. Regular Gas - Tank Wagon $0.465 per gallon 650,000 Gals. Leadfree Gas- Transport $.502 per gallon 130,000 Gals. #2 Diesel Fuel -Tank Wagon $.454 per gallon 130,000 Gals. #2 Diesel Fuel - Transport $.425 per gallon 2,000 Gals. Premier Diesel - Tank Wagon $.519 per gallon Murphy -Miles Division Bid was signed by L. D. LaCroix, Sales Amoco Oil Company Manager, non - collusion affidavit was Hillside, Illinois in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone noted that the.company submitted a bid bond instead of a certified check. A company representative was present and advised the Board that the company's principal supply depot is located at Whiting,,Indiana and deliveries will be made from Whiting. Bid - 200,000 Gals. #2 Fuel Oil at $39.117 per gal. - $78,234.00 Amoco Oil Company Detroit, Michigan Bid was signed by C. A. Twigg, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone noted that the company submitted a bid bond instead of a certified check and the bid was sent from Michigan. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon,, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board determined that the bid could be considered if a certified check is submitted within forty -eight hours.
