205 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 25, 1978 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />2:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 1978 by Chairman Pro -Tem <br />Peter H. Mullen, with Mr. Mullen and Mr. Brunner present and <br />Mr. McMahon absent. <br />Purpose of the special meeting was to consider a recommendation <br />to award the bid for the CET.A telephone system. Elroy Kelzenberg, <br />Director of Employment and Training, was present and advised the <br />Board that he had reviewed the bids received and was recommending <br />acceptance of the low bid of Executone- Michiana, Inc. of $19,120 <br />for an Executone Key Touchtone System. Mr. Kelzenberg said he was <br />making his recommendation on the basis of cost comparison. Executone <br />was the low bid received and was also low when reviewed over a period <br />of three, five and ten years. Mr. Mullen inquired about the cost <br />savings involved and Mr. Kelzenberg said a savings of $20,000 would <br />be realized in ten years and a savings of $6,000 to $7,000 over a <br />three -year period. Mr. Brunner made a motion to accept the recommendation <br />and award the bid to Executone.
