252 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT - BENDIX DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS <br />SEPTEMBER 18, 1978 <br />The contract with Rieth -Riley Construction Company for Project <br />R & S 7805 for the Bendix Drive improvements at the intersections <br />of Bertrand and Linden Streets was submitted to the Board. The <br />contract is in accordance with the bid accepted by the Board in <br />the amount of $25,459.20. The Performance Bond and Labor and <br />Materials Payment Bonds were submitted with the contract. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the contract was approved and the bonds filed. <br />FINAL CHANGE ORDER IN CENTURY CENTER PARKING LOT APPROVED <br />W- <br />John E. Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />submitted to the Board the final change order in the Century Center <br />Parking Lot contract. The contractor is Rieth Riley Construction <br />Company and the change order increases the contract by $126.95 and <br />is to adjust the contract to as -built quantities. Total amount <br />of the contract is $209,466.35 and it is within the budgeted <br />appropriation. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the change order was approved. <br />ATTENDANCE AT BUILDING OFFICIALS CONFERENCE APPROVED <br />John E. DeLee, Building Commissioner, submitted to the.Board a <br />request to attend the 1978 International Building Officials <br />Conference in Denver from October 1 through 6. Budgeted funds are <br />available for the conference. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR DISCO CORNER AT UNION STATION FILED <br />Donald E. Sporleder, President, Union Square, Inc., submitted to <br />the Board a request to operate a "Disco Corner" at Union Station <br />from October 12 through October 31, in connection with a Multiple <br />Sclerosis fund raising project. There was a general discussion <br />regarding whether any City permits are required other than the <br />Charitable Solicitations Permit. John DeLee, Building Commissioner, <br />noted that this request is for a three -week period and might fall <br />under the controlled use ordinance as a dance hall for which a <br />City permit would be required.
