175 REGULAR MEETING STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT JUNE 26, 1978 The Street Light Outage Report for the period June 13 to June 19 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated twenty -five outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed. Dennis Moran was present and questioned the procedure for reporting street light outages and the length of time required for repairs. The Board explained to Mr. Moran that I & M is notified of the outages and if overhead repairs can be made, they are scheduled as soon as possible. If the trouble is in underground cable, it is more difficult to locate and requires a longer period of time. Mr. Brunner noted that he would be interested in determining the difference in time required to repair outages occuring because of above - ground problems as opposed to underground problems. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the question will be referred to the Legal Department for investigation. ORANGE - COLFAX CONNECTOR STATUS QUESTIONED Dennis Moran asked the Board about the status of the revised plans for the Orange- Colfax connector. Mr. McMahon said this revision is being worked out by Cole Associates and he would check to see whether plans have been completed. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 AND 16, 1978 Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the following resolutions regarding street improvements were adopted by the Board: RESOLUTION NO. 10, 1978 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary in the best interest of the public safety and welfare to construct certain street improvements at the Ironwood - Jefferson Street intersection, and WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such improvements as provided by Acts of the General Assembly, therefore BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the Board of Public Works orders the Department of Public Works to prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, secure the necessary right -of -way and easements, by the doing of all acts necessary and desirable to the acquisition by gift, purchase or condemnation. 2.
