<br />REQUEST TO SCHEDULE REVENUE SHARING HEARING APPROVED
<br />Michael C. Borkowski, Chief of Police, requested that the Board
<br />set a public hearing on a,revenue sharing request for $49,000 for
<br />data processing. It was anticipated that the budget item for this
<br />account would not be sufficient for the entire year. Upon motion
<br />made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Clerk
<br />was directed to advertise for a public hearing on the revenue sharing
<br />request for June 12, 1978 and the Clerk was directed to advertise
<br />the hearing.
<br />CONTRACT EXTENDED - RESEARCH ASSISTANT FOR DISCOVERY HALL
<br />Richard Welch, Director of Discovery Hall Museum, was present and
<br />advised the Board that the contract with Linda Newton, Research
<br />Assistant, approved by the Board expires on June 2. Because of the
<br />closing of the museum during the energy crisis, she was not able to
<br />work the total number of hours in the contract. Mr. Welch requested
<br />that the contract be extended for two months, through August 2, 1978,
<br />noting that the dollar amount of the contract remains the same.
<br />He has received approval of the extension from the National Endowment
<br />for the Humanities, source of the funding. Upon motion made by
<br />Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved
<br />extension of the contract through August 2, 1978.
<br />AMENDMENTS TO EXHIBITS FOR PARKING GARAGE BOND REFINANCING APPROVED
<br />AND LEASE AGREEMENT APPROVED
<br />Warren Deahl, Attorney, was present and submitted to the Board the
<br />following resolution covering amendments to the exhibits to the
<br />lease for the parking facilities:
<br />"RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South
<br />Bend, said City being an Indiana municipal corporation, that the
<br />draft of lease between said City and Parking Facilities of
<br />South Bend, Inc. relating to real estate on Colfax Street and
<br />on Jefferson Street in said City and bearing the date of
<br />April 1, 1978 on the caption page thereof, presented to the
<br />Common Council of said City on April 24, 1978 is now reviewed
<br />by the Board; and
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said draft of lease now be
<br />amended in the particulars set forth on Exhibit "A"
<br />attached hereto and made a part hereof, and that said lease
<br />as so amended shall read as the draft bearing date of May
<br />25, 1978 on the caption page thereof, which is hereby
<br />ratified and approved in all things and the Mayor and Clerk of
<br />said City are authorized to execute the same for, on behalf
<br />and in the name of the City. if
<br />EXHIBIT "A"
<br />On page 3, the trust relating to Article I, Section 1, the
<br />trustee's name was inserted, viz., St. Joseph Bank and Trust
<br />Company, South Bend, Indiana.
<br />On page 4, the amount on the first line of the page was changed
<br />from $3,695,000 to $3,630,000.
<br />In Article IV, Section 4.01, the first paragraph was changed
<br />to read as appears in the draft the caption of which bears date
<br />of May 25, 1978.
