REGULAR MEETING SUBGRANT AGREEMENTS APPROVED APRIL 10, 1978 8 1 Elroy Kelzenberg, Director of Employment and Training, submitted to the Board Subgrant Agreements with the St. Joseph County Building Trades Council and the South Bend Community School Corporation. Mr. Kelzenberg explained that the agreement with the St. Joseph County Building Trades Council is in the amount of $326,433 and provides for pre- apprenticeship training in two segments: Classroom training in the building trades and occupational training and apprenticeship design. This is a joint project between Elkhart and St. Joseph County. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the agreement was approved. The Subgrant Agreement with the South Bend Community School Corporation is in the amount of $35,940 and is in connection with the Building Trades Subgrant. It will provide remedial and basic education classes for the participants. The School Corporation will provide two instructors at Darden School for the training. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the agreement was approved. CONTRACT FOR REHABILITATION OF NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER APPROVED The contract with Tom Ford Home Improvement Company, in accordance with the bid accepted by the Board, was submitted for approval. Total amount of the contract is $19,335.20. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone advised the Board that the bond submitted meets the bid specifications for the project. A no -lien contract was also submitted to the Board for approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the contract was approved, the no -lien contract was approved and will be recorded and the certificate of insurance was filed. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED The Street Light Outage Report for the period March 29 through April 5 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated twenty -eight outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed. RECOMMENDATION TO SCRAP VEHICLE APPROVED John E. DeLee, Building Commissioner, advised the Board that Vehicle No. 610 assigned to the Sub - Standard Building Department cannot be repaired and should be scrapped. He requested that it be dropped from the vehicle list and disposed of by the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recommendation to scrap Vehicle No. 610.
