REGULAR MEETING <br />SUBGRANT AGREEMENTS APPROVED <br />APRIL 10, 1978 <br />8 1 <br />Elroy Kelzenberg, Director of Employment and Training, submitted to <br />the Board Subgrant Agreements with the St. Joseph County Building <br />Trades Council and the South Bend Community School Corporation. <br />Mr. Kelzenberg explained that the agreement with the St. Joseph <br />County Building Trades Council is in the amount of $326,433 and <br />provides for pre- apprenticeship training in two segments: Classroom <br />training in the building trades and occupational training and <br />apprenticeship design. This is a joint project between Elkhart and <br />St. Joseph County. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the agreement was approved. The Subgrant <br />Agreement with the South Bend Community School Corporation is in the <br />amount of $35,940 and is in connection with the Building Trades <br />Subgrant. It will provide remedial and basic education classes for <br />the participants. The School Corporation will provide two instructors <br />at Darden School for the training. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the agreement was approved. <br />CONTRACT FOR REHABILITATION OF NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER APPROVED <br />The contract with Tom Ford Home Improvement Company, in accordance <br />with the bid accepted by the Board, was submitted for approval. <br />Total amount of the contract is $19,335.20. Deputy City Attorney <br />Terry A. Crone advised the Board that the bond submitted meets the <br />bid specifications for the project. A no -lien contract was also <br />submitted to the Board for approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the contract was approved, the <br />no -lien contract was approved and will be recorded and the certificate <br />of insurance was filed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period March 29 through <br />April 5 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated twenty -eight <br />outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />RECOMMENDATION TO SCRAP VEHICLE APPROVED <br />John E. DeLee, Building Commissioner, advised the Board that <br />Vehicle No. 610 assigned to the Sub - Standard Building Department <br />cannot be repaired and should be scrapped. He requested that it be <br />dropped from the vehicle list and disposed of by the Bureau of <br />Vehicle Maintenance. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recommendation to <br />scrap Vehicle No. 610. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the meeting adjourned at 11:02 a.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Patricia DeClercq, Cleik <br />
