Staff <br />recommends approval of the proposal. <br /> <br />C <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />OMMISSION APPROVED THE PROPOSAL FROM <br />PEPIIS <br />HIFER NVIRONMENTAL FOR A HASE ITE <br />Mr. Alford and unanimously carried, the <br />A122E.S <br />SSESSMENT OF AMPLE FOR THE SCOPE <br />Commission approved the proposal from <br /> <br />OF SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED <br />Phifer Environmental for a Phase II Site <br />Assessment of 122 E. Sample for the scope <br />of services and fee proposed. <br /> <br /> <br />(2) Proposal for supervision of demolition <br />(Block building at 250 E. Sample) <br /> <br />Mr. Relos noted that on September 17, 2010, <br />the Commission accepted a proposal from <br />Christopher Burke Engineering (CBE) for <br />environmental services and to prepare <br />demolition specifications for the demolition <br />of the cement block building at 236 E. <br />Sample St. This building is next to Ivy <br />Tech’s administrative offices at 250 East <br />Sample Street. <br /> <br />This work has now been completed, and the <br />project, including new sidewalks on the west <br />side of Carroll Street, and on Sample from <br />Carroll to the western edge of Ivy Tech’s <br />property line, has been quoted and the <br />winning contractor selected. The city’s <br />Engineering staff is over worked and does <br />not have time to do this oversight. Staff <br />recommends hiring Christopher Burke <br />Engineering to do construction oversight, to <br />ensure the work meets city standards. <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br />
