244 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER3, 1979 <br />USE OF FIRE STATIONS FOR TOYS FOR TOTS PROGRAM APPROVED <br />Fire Chief Oscar Van Wiele submitted to the Board the request of <br />the Marine Corps Reserve to use Fire Stations as collection points <br />for the annual Toys for Tots campaign and his recommendation that <br />the request be approved, Upon motion.made by Mr, McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. <br />LEASE - DISCOVERY HALL ANNEX APPROVED <br />Richard Welch, Director, Discovery Hall Museum, submitted to the <br />Board an extension of the lease agreement with South Bend <br />Commercial Properties for a porcion of the premises located at <br />1408 Elwood Avenue for Discovery Hall Annex. Mr. Welch explained <br />to the Board that the lease agreement has been extended to <br />include',. 2,000 additional square feet with an increase in the <br />rental payment to $11,640.00, payable as follows: $658.33 per month <br />with the remaining annual rental payment being donated to the City <br />of South end and Discovery Hall by South Bend Commercial Properties. <br />Mr. Welch noted that the agreement reflects a total increase of <br />$2,400.00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the lease agreement was approved, subject to <br />funding <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - ATRIUM FOR FIRST BANK CENTER <br />Sollitt Construction Company, Construction Managers for the First <br />Bank Center Project, submitted a request to advertise for bids <br />for the Atrium portion of the First Bank Center project, with <br />sealed bids to be received on November 26. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request <br />was approved. <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT APPROVED - MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SEWERS <br />The Project Completion Affidavit for the construction of the <br />Memorial Hospital Storm Sewers was submitted to the Board <br />recommended for approval by Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public <br />Works, and John E. Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public <br />Construction. The work was done privately but is in the public <br />right -of -way and was inspected and approved by the City. The <br />maintenance agreement for the project extends until September 7, 1982. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Mullen and <br />carried, the Completion Affidavit was approved and the Maintenance <br />Bond filed. <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT APPROVED - KENSINGTON FARMS. SECTION 1 <br />The Project Completion Affidavit for Kensington Farms Final (East) <br />Section 1 was submitted to the Board recommended for approval by <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, and John E. Leszczynski, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction. The improvement <br />included streets, storm sewers and sanitary sewers on Bridgeton <br />Drive from Watford Lane to Sommersworth Drive and on Sommerswith <br />Drive from Bridgeton to Ironwood Road. The Maintenance Agreement <br />extends until November 2, 1982. Submitted with the Affidavit was <br />an Irrevocable Letter of Credit in the amount of $22,712,00 <br />covering street surfacing. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Completion Affidavit was <br />approved and the Letter of Credit filed. <br />
