236 REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 29, 1979 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 1979 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. MINUTES APPROVED Mr. Mullen reported that the minutes of the October 22 meeting had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be approved as submitted. Mr. McMahon, seconded the motion and it carried. AGENDA ITEM ADDED - CETA VEHICLE LEASES Mr. McMahon noted receipt of a report on lease extensions for vehicles for the Bureau of Employment and Training and he made a motion that the item be added to the agenda. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion _. and it carried. OPENING OF BIDS - FIRE STATION NO. 11. This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of new Fire Station 11. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. "The following bids were opened and publicly read: General Construction Henry - Williams, Inc. Bid was signed by Al Zeiler, Jr,, South Bend, Indiana non- collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $477,800.00 H. G. Christman Const. Co. Bid was signed by Howard E. Emmons, South Bend, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $469,500.00 Brown and Brown Gen. Cont Wakarusa, Indiana Bid - $490,192.00 Carl J. Reinke & Son South Bend, Indiana Bid — $477,290.00 Harry H. Verkler Gen. Cont. South Bend, Indiana Bid - $453,515.00 Bid was signed by Eric Brown, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by Harold G, Reinke, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by Harlen A. Rusk, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted.
