221 REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 8, 1979 PROPOSAL ACCEPTED - REHABILITATION OF RUNAWAY SHELTER The Board received a report from Michele Dobski, Assistant Director of the Youth Services Bureau, submitting a tabulation of proposals received for the rehabilitation of the Runaway Shelter at 1322 Lincolnway East, Jurtin Construction Company submitted • proposal of $27,958.00 and P1aia Construction Company submitted • proposal of $24,841.00. The Bureau negotiated with the Plaia Construction Company, whose proposal was low, to an acceptable contract amount of $17,334.00. Miss Dobski recommended acceptance of this proposal and submitted contract documents. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board filed the report and accepted the recommendation to award the contract to P1aia Construction, subject to the receipt of the Performance Bond and Certificate of Insurance. PURCHASE AGREEMENT APPROVED 2005 W. INDIANA Eugene LeDonne submitted a proposal to the Board for the purchase of the city -owned lot at 2005 W. Indiana Avenue for $220.00 and the Common Council approved the sale at less than the appraised price. A Purchase Agreement was prepared and submitted to Mr. LeDonne for signature. The agreement is now ready for approval by the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the purchase agreement was approved and referred to Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone for preparation of the deed. APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted to the Board the following recommendations for traffic control devices: A. Removal of Yellow Curb, 1103 and 1109 Eclipse. In response to a remonstrance petition of residents. B. Installation of No Parking, on both sides of the Michigan /Main Connector, from the east"west alley south of Navarre on Michigan to Main and Madison needed to maintain the newly constructed driving lanes. C. Installation of No Parking, south side of Bartlett, from Main to Michigan, as the narrow street makes parking on both sides impractical, Installation of No Parking, east side of Main, from Bartlett south to and including the hospital entrance, because of the newly constructed parking garage and curb cuts. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendations were approved, JOHN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL PARADE APPROVED - OCTOBER 19 he Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported that the request of ohn Adams High School to hold a Homecoming Parade on Friday, ctober 19 had been reviewed with the Police Department and approval s recommended. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded by Mr, ullen and carried, the recommendation was approved.
