221 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 8, 1979 <br />PROPOSAL ACCEPTED - REHABILITATION OF RUNAWAY SHELTER <br />The Board received a report from Michele Dobski, Assistant <br />Director of the Youth Services Bureau, submitting a tabulation of <br />proposals received for the rehabilitation of the Runaway Shelter <br />at 1322 Lincolnway East, Jurtin Construction Company submitted <br />• proposal of $27,958.00 and P1aia Construction Company submitted <br />• proposal of $24,841.00. The Bureau negotiated with the Plaia <br />Construction Company, whose proposal was low, to an acceptable <br />contract amount of $17,334.00. Miss Dobski recommended acceptance <br />of this proposal and submitted contract documents. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />Board filed the report and accepted the recommendation to award the <br />contract to P1aia Construction, subject to the receipt of the <br />Performance Bond and Certificate of Insurance. <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT APPROVED ­2005 W. INDIANA <br />Eugene LeDonne submitted a proposal to the Board for the purchase <br />of the city -owned lot at 2005 W. Indiana Avenue for $220.00 and <br />the Common Council approved the sale at less than the appraised <br />price. A Purchase Agreement was prepared and submitted to Mr. <br />LeDonne for signature. The agreement is now ready for approval <br />by the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the purchase agreement was approved and referred <br />to Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone for preparation of the deed. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board the following recommendations for traffic <br />control devices: <br />A. Removal of Yellow Curb, 1103 and 1109 Eclipse. In response <br />to a remonstrance petition of residents. <br />B. Installation of No Parking, on both sides of the Michigan /Main <br />Connector, from the east"west alley south of Navarre on Michigan <br />to Main and Madison needed to maintain the newly constructed <br />driving lanes. <br />C. Installation of No Parking, south side of Bartlett, from <br />Main to Michigan, as the narrow street makes parking on <br />both sides impractical, <br />Installation of No Parking, east side of Main, from Bartlett <br />south to and including the hospital entrance, because of <br />the newly constructed parking garage and curb cuts. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the recommendations were approved, <br />JOHN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL PARADE APPROVED - OCTOBER 19 <br />he Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported that the request of <br />ohn Adams High School to hold a Homecoming Parade on Friday, <br />ctober 19 had been reviewed with the Police Department and approval <br />s recommended. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded by Mr, <br />ullen and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />
