Mr. <br />Mullen said if Southold would.like to purchase the wrought iron <br />fencing, the City could consider requesting the contractor to <br />relinquish his salvage rights. Stanley Przybylinski, member of <br />the St. Joseph Cemetery Association, advised the Board that his <br />Association has made an offer to Morse Electric Company to buy <br />the fencing from them. That offer was made last Thursday. <br />He asked if,;in view of the discussion today, the association should <br />make an offer for the fencing to the City. Mr. Brunner noted <br />that a meeting would be arranged with.all interested parties in <br />an effort to resolve this matter. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the matter was taken under <br />advisement and a meeting will be arranged between all the parties <br />as soon as possible. Councilman Walter Szymkowiak suggested that if <br />the City is going to maintain the old fence along LaPorte Avenue, <br />they should keep the best fencing that is removed for repair work. <br />MEETING DATE CHANGED <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the regular meeting of July 16 was changed to Tuesday, July 17. <br />NOTICE OF ASSIGN14ENT OF POLICE VEHICLE NUMBERS <br />Police Chief Michael C. Borkowski advised the Board of the <br />assignment of City Vehicle Numbers to new vehicles as follows: <br />Vehicle No. 723 - 1979 AM Gen. Jeep #0000129 <br />Vehicle No. 724 - 1979 AM Gen. Jeep #0000128 <br />Change Old Vehicle No. 724 to 721 - 1973 AM Gen. Jeep <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the notification was ordered filed. <br />DISPOSAL OF POLICE VEHICLE APPROVED <br />Police Chief Michael C. Borkowski requested permission to dispose <br />of an obsolete 1973 Jeep, #DJ5C510412. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board authorized <br />disposition of the vehicle. <br />AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION REQUEST APPROVED <br />Mr. Farabaugh, on behalf of the American Motorcycle Association, <br />submitted a request for use of the Municipal Services Facility <br />lot every week -end in July for the purpose of conducting a motorcycle <br />safety course. They also requested permission to stripe the lot <br />and to park the vehicles on Saturday nights. The Board was advised <br />that John Stancati, Director of Utilities, has approved the use <br />and striping of the lot, to be coordinated by the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, and Division Chief Glenn Terry is coordinating <br />arrangements for the parking of the motorcycles. Insurance coverage <br />is being provided by the Muszynski Insurance Agency. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Mullen,,seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />request was approved. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - AUTOMATION OF GASOLINE PUMPS <br />John F. Stancati, Director of Utilities, submitted a request to <br />the Board to authorize advertising for bids for the automation of <br />the gasoline pumps at the Municipal Services Facility. Mr. Mullen <br />noted that it is planned to move the dispatcher to an area where <br />he can observe the pumps and they will be operated by remote control. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the request to advertise.for bids was approved. <br />�J <br />
