54 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 14, 1979 <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATION APPROVED <br />Michele Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the <br />Board an application from the South Bend Chess Club to hold a <br />Chess Tournament on the Robertons's Stage on the Plaza on <br />August 25, 1979. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the application was approved. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 8272 through 9394 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 8272 through 9394 <br />and directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />AGREE14ENT WITH SHRINE CLUB REFERRED <br />A deed exchanging real estate between the City of South Bend <br />and the South Bend Shrine Club, with reference to the Michigan/ <br />Main Connector, was submitted to the Board. Mr. McMahon made <br />a motion to refer the deed to Terry Crone, Deputy City Attorney <br />for review and a legal opinion as to whether the deed can be <br />executed by the Board. <br />BOND APPROVED - SCHUMACHER, INC. <br />Raymond S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the <br />Board that a Contractor's Bond submitted by Schumacher, Inc, <br />had been properly executed and could be approved, Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />bond was approved. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period May 2 to May 10 <br />was submitted to the Board. The report indicated nineteen outages. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST TO TURN STREET LIGHT RECEIVED <br />Mrs. Davis was present representing residents of Orange Street. <br />She informed the Board that the residents requested installation <br />of a street light on Orange, between Huey and a mid -block alley. <br />The light has been installed but is misdirected and does not <br />light up the dark portion of the street. She requested that the <br />Board have the light changed to direct it to the east to avoid <br />vandalism.
