JANUARY 21, 1957 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of <br />Public Safety was held on Monday, January <br />21, 1957 <br />at 10:00 A.M. (CST). All members <br />were present. Minutes of the previous regular <br />meet- <br />ing were read and approved. Salary claims <br />in the total amount of $84,892.53 <br />were <br />approved. Durrell, 1314 East Bissell Street on a <br />limitation basis for use only at dance halls. A permit was also issued to Dorotha Paxton <br />of the South Bend Police Department. <br />Fire Chief requests permission to send Captain Tubbs to school in Battle Creek on the <br />24th and 25th days of January, 1957; Battalion Chief Lederrer to Purdue School on the <br />24th and 25th days of January, 1957; Chief Andrzjewski and Ass't Chief Andert to Ad- <br />minstrative school at Purdue_•on- ;the'6th, 7th .and 8th days of February, 1957. Also, to <br />send Lieut. Steve Horvath, Edward Hosinski, and Batt. Chief Lederrer for one (1) day <br />only to Purdue on the 6th day of February. Permission granted to above requests. <br />Police Chief requests permission for himself and Insp. Hazinski to Purdue on the 6th, <br />7th, and 8th days of February, 1957. Permission granted. <br />Nicholas Horvath, Electrical Superintendent, recommends the installation of 4000 lumen <br />lights at the following locations: 1600 Block Hamilton Street, 1900 Block East <br />Donald Street, 3600 Block South Miami Streetat the entrance-of St. Mary's Academy. <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. (CST) it was so announced and the bids for the <br />Police Department were opened. Proof of publications appeared in the South Bend <br />Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood and in the Record with an affi- <br />davit signed by W. DeCanio were submitted to the Board, and found sufficient.
