Walz, Inc. <br />98.78 <br />Western Union Telegraph <br />5.08 <br />Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, recommends a 4000 <br />lumen light between 500 and 600 blocks of 33rd Street, at the alley intersection and <br />33rd Street, in front of 602 South 33rd Street, alley interstion midway between Bronson <br />Street and the railroad tracks on pole No. J259 -267. <br />The petition for a street light on Cleveland Avenue from Lincolnway West to second <br />alley North was submitted to the Board and referred to the Electrical Department for fur- <br />ther investigation and recommendation. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Applications for the Police Department were examined and placed on file for Charles <br />Graham. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The application for membership in the Firemen's Pension Fund submitted by Joseph <br />Vandel Nagy was found acceptable and said Nagy's membership to the South Bend Fire De- <br />partment becomes fully effective as of August 16, 1956. <br />FirE Chief Alex Andrzjewski requested permission to attend a Firemen's Convention <br />in Indianapolis on the 4th, Pith, 6th, and 7th days of September. Permission granted. <br />The bids for the fire hose for the South Bend Fire Department whi6h were filed with <br />the Board last Monday, August 6, 1956 were now taken under advisement by the Board. The <br />contract is now awarded to Midwest Fire & Safety Company, 1605 Prospect Avenue, Indiana- <br />polis, Indiana which reads as follows: <br />
