230 <br />JANUARY 30, 1956 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held <br />Monday, January 30, 1956 at 10;00 A.M. (CST). All members were present. <br />Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Wheel Sales & Sert.61 <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Fire Chief, Alex Andrzejewski appeared before the Board <br />with reference to request permission to attend 2 meetings out of the <br />City on the 7th and 10th days of February. Request granted. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board with reference to <br />request permission from the Board to hold their annual Police Show on the <br />23rd, 24th, and 25th of July, 1956. Permission granted. <br />Captain Hazinski appeared before the Board with reference <br />to Revolving flasher (sparkler).lights. Submitted evidence of those places <br />still having such lights in operation. Board advised Captain Hazinski to <br />give notice of the ordinance to all places with such lights in operation. <br />The Contract of the Portage Township with reference to the <br />use of fire service for the township was submitted to the Board. Contract <br />approved. <br />The time now being 11:00 , it was so announced and the bids <br />for the Fire Department were opened: <br />Scherman- Schaus- Freeman Co. <br />520 S. Lafayette St. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />1 1956 Studebaker Commander <br />Four -door Sedan <br />Less discount and allowance <br />A Non - Collusion Affidavit <br />and certified check for <br />0200.00 accompanied the <br />bid. <br />$2757.50 <br />7,64-18 <br />Net total $1993.12 <br />
