Ma iiozzi <br />Executive Director <br />Assistant Director <br />Phone 574 235 -9571 www.stiosephcountyindiana .corn /areaplan Fax 574 235 -9813 <br />November I7, 2010 <br />The Honorable Council of the City of South <br />Bend <br />4th Floor, County-City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />RE: An Area Plan Commission Initiated Petition on behalf of the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission, to zone from GI General Industrial District, to PUD Planned Unit Development <br />District, to be know as Ignition Park PUD, property located at the southeast quadrant of Sample <br />Street and Prairie Avenue, City of South Bend. - APC# 2568 -10 <br />Dear Council Members. <br />I hereby Certify that the above referenced ordinance of the Area Plan Commission on behalf of the South <br />Bend Redevelopment Commission was legally advertised on Thursday, November 4,20 10 and that the <br />Area Plan Commission at its public hearing on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 took the following action: <br />Upon a motion by Gerry Phipps, being seconded by Richard Warner and unanimously carried, <br />the Area Plan Commission Initiated Petition on behalf of the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission, to zone from GI General Industrial District, to PUD Planned Unit Development <br />District, to be know as Ignition Park PUD, property located at the southeast quadrant of <br />Sample Street and Prairie Avenue, City of South Bend. is sent to the Common Council with a <br />favorable recommendation. The South Bend Comprehensive Plan, City Plan, identifies the <br />establishment of a research park as one of the action steps under Strategy #1. In conjunction <br />with Notre Dame's Innovation Park, Ignition Park provides a well - designed development <br />facility in the attraction of new businesses to the city, and provide the means to retain and <br />attract young, skilled professionals to the community. <br />PLEASE NOTE that the Ordinance has been amended by the petitioner and is different than that <br />used for the Common CounciI's first reading.
