Stogdill, M.D. <br />31.80 <br />SLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />The Board first considered the Police Department need for two mobile <br />combination radio and transmitters, and finding the equipment offered <br />d price to be satisfactory, directed the Clerk to proceed with the <br />purchase in accord with Police Department Requisition No. 1478. <br />Chief of Police, R. J. Gillen, being present, recommended to the <br />Board, the promotion of Patrolman Nester P. Stachowicz to the rank of- <br />Detective Sergeant, effective November 16, 1955, to fill vacancy presently <br />existing in that rank. The Board approved the promotion accordingly. <br />Chief Gillen next recommended to the Board, the appointment to the <br />P lice force of the following four applicants, all of whom have successfully <br />passed the required physical examinations and have been accepted by the <br />P lice Pension Board; <br />Robert J. Bella <br />Ladislaus J. Borkowski <br />-Leonard Brooks, Jr. <br />Ralph J.-Wolfe. <br />The Board approved the four appointments, effective November 16, 1955, <br />s bject to the usual probationary period. <br />The Police Department applications of Leon E. Allison, William E. Brien, <br />and Kenneth E. McDonald were examined and ordered placed on file. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, br ught'to the Boardts attention <br />his departmentts need for a new four door sedan. Funds being found to be <br />a ailable to provide this equipment, the Board directed the Clerk to proceed <br />with the required legal advertising for bids. <br />The Fire Department applications of Thomas L. Latimer, James 0. Root, <br />Ro ert C. Rybak, and Frank L. Watkins, were examined and <br />fi e. , ordered placed on <br />TRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendation of Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for the installation of <br />a 000 lumen light on South Franklin Street, at the alley between Nos. 1124 <br />
