October 17, 1955 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday, <br />October 17, 1955, at 10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes- of,the <br />previous meeting were read and approved. Glueckert, <br />Precinct Committeeman, 4th District, 6th Precinct, for the use of old Fire <br />Station No. 3, 219 N. Hill Street for the 6th Precinct polling place on <br />Elect ±6n Day, Tuesday, November 8, 1955• 1 <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, placed before the Board, the <br />proposal of Chas. Aulm, general contractor, for the construction of <br />approximately fifty feet of sidewalk from the driveway of Central Fire <br />Station to the line of separation between Central Fire Station and the <br />Fire Alarm and Signal Station. This proposal of $221.00 was acceptable <br />to the Board and the Clerk was directed to confirm with formal purchase <br />order. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendation of Supt. Ira Hunsberger for the installation of a <br />4000 lumen light at each of the following locations, was approved by the <br />Board: <br />Alley intersection on Orange Street, between Bridsell & Adams <br />Intersection of Keller Street and Sheridan Avenue <br />Intersection of Marquette Street,and Sheridan Avenue <br />Intersection of Sample Street and Evergreen Lane <br />Intersect:in of Meadow Lane and Evergreen Lane <br />The recommendation of Supt. Ia Hunsberger for the installation of a <br />2500 lumen light on the southwest corner of the alley intersection on <br />i <br />Maple Street, between Thomas and Jefferson Street was approved by the Board. <br />A petition, dated October 14, 1955, and bearing the signatures of <br />seven property owners, calling for the installation of a street light at <br />1225 Haney Avenue was examined and referred to the electrical superintendent <br />for investigation and recommendation. <br />A petition, dated October 14, 1955, requesting street light at the <br />intersection of Meade and Keller Streets was referred to Mr. Hunsberger for <br />investigation and report. <br />A petition, dated October 17th, 1955, requesting street light at the <br />intersection of Seebirt and LaSalle Avenue was referred to Mr. Hunsberger <br />for investigation and report. <br />1 <br />
