i . <br />June 29, 1955 <br />A special meeting of the Board of - Public Safety was held in the office <br />of the Board at 9:00 A. M. C.S.T., Wednesday, June 29, 1955. Mr. J. A. <br />Bickel was absent. <br />The Board reviewed the applications of the following Fire Department <br />applicants: <br />Lowell E. Badman <br />Richard E. Benninghoff <br />Gerald A. Kazmierczak <br />Raymond L. Kowalski <br />Donald E. Whitacre <br />Bernard R. Zmyslo <br />Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, and no objections being offered <br />the Board appointed these six applicants as probationary fireman, effective <br />July 1, 1955, subject to physical examinations by.the City Doctor, and <br />by the-doctor for the Firements Pension Fund, proving satisfactory. <br />There being no other business to come before the Board at this time, <br />meeting, thereupon adjourned. <br />Attest: <br />Clerk <br />July 5, 1955 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Tuesday, <br />July 5, 1955, at 10:00 A. M. Mr. J. A. Bickel was absent. Minutes of <br />the previous regular meeting and also special meeting were read and <br />approved. Salary claims in.the amount of 081,558.95 were approved.-,.Claims <br />of the following suppliers, in the total amount of $2670.53, were approved <br />and ordered paid: <br />American Telephone & Tele.Co. <br />Gafill Oil Co. <br />Gerber Mfg. A. Vargyas, and <br />brought to the Board's attention the Fire Department's need for 500 ft <br />of 1N" Fabric Fire Hose. Approval was given and the -Clerk was directed <br />to proceed with the purchase. <br />a <br />Authorization was also granted by the Board for the release of <br />Purchase Order BW 8015, covering 250 feet of Booster Hose, of which the <br />department is in urgent need. <br />The Fire Department application of Ralph S. Rakowski, dated June 21, <br />1955, was examined and ordered filed. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police, R. J. Gillen,,being present, recommended to the <br />Board the granting of leave of absence to Captain Clem Hazinski and <br />1 <br />
