Gillen, <br />requesting approval for the emergency purchase of a supply of automotive <br />parts in the total sum of $225.659 The Board approved the purchase and <br />authorized the release of Purchase Order No. B177825 confirming. <br />The Police Department application of Dale K. Richmond was examined <br />d ordered placed on file. <br />RE DEPARTMENT: <br />Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, made the following recommendations;, <br />o fill vacancies in the department. f <br />1. Battalion Chief Russell Hoffman be promoted to Assistant Chief. <br />2. Lieutenant'Clem Marosz be promoted to Captain. <br />3. Lieutenant Alex Niespodziany- be demoted to Private. <br />4- Fireman Raymond Arendt be promoted to Lieutenant. <br />5. Fireman Richard Busfield be promoted to Lieutenant. <br />The Board accepted Chief Duckts recommendations to become effective <br />sday -, June 1, 1955- <br />�TRICAL DEPARTMENT,: <br />The recommendation of Supt. Ira J-. Hunsberger, for the installation <br />f a 4000 lumen light at the southwest corner of the alley intersection in <br />he 1200 block of Bissell Street was approved by the Board. <br />Petitions for the, installation of' street lights at the following <br />ocations were referred to Supt. Hunsberger for investigation and recommen- <br />ation: <br />On Peashway °Street beteveen Notre Dame Ave. and St. Louis Blvd. <br />On Peashway, between Hill and Lawrence'Streets. <br />In each of the 1400, 1500 and 1600 blocks of Re-yer Street. <br />On Gertrude Street, between Prairie and Ewing Avenues. <br />Alley intersection between Walnut and Chestnut Streets. <br />Alley intersection between Jefferson and Napier Streets. <br />There being no further 'business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />ras adjourned at 11 :20 A.
