7 <br />A petition, dated April 18, 1955, carrying nine signatures of <br />resident property owners, calling for imp-rovedstreet lighting at the <br />intersection of Rockne Drive and Northwood Drive, and for the 170.0 <br />block of Rockne Drive, was examined and referred to Supt. Hunsberger for <br />investigation and report. <br />There being no Lurther business to come before the Board, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 11 :30 A. J. Duck, being present, placed before the Board the <br />written acceptance of Cornelius R. Niezgodski for membership in the <br />Firements Pension Fund, and the action of the Firements Pension Fund <br />in the payment of death benefits to the estates of. James Scott and <br />Paul Wegner. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police R. J. Gillen, being present, requested permission <br />to attend Seminar for Police Administrators, to be conducted at Purdue <br />University, May 12th and 13th. The Board considered the nominal <br />estimated expense and granted the permission. <br />The recommendation of Chief of Police, R. J. Gillen, that Captain <br />Elmer Sokol be permitted to attend the conference of the National <br />Probation and Parole Association to be held in St. Paul, Minnesota, on <br />June 19, 20, 21 and 22, 1955. In view of the importance of the matters <br />to be taken up in this conference, the Board granted permission. <br />Police Department Application of James W.
