F mi <br />and the Police Department urgently needs the storage space occupied by <br />this vehicle. Discussion was given to the matter of the Fire Department <br />maintaining the ambulance in operating condition at all times, and <br />manning this equipment for an emergency call. The matter received. <br />serious consideration, but no definite action was taken at this time. <br />The Police Department request for Press Passes for Special Police <br />Officer (Bendix employed) and Emery L. Molnar, photographer, was <br />approved by the Board and passes issued this date. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendation of Supt. Ira Hunsb'erger for the installation <br />of three 6000 lumen lights on Michigan Street at St. Joseph High School, <br />two 6000 lumen lights on Angella Boulevard at St. Joseph High School, <br />and one 6000 lumen light on the northeast corner of West Sample Street <br />and Mayflower Road was approved by the Board. <br />Supt. Hunsberger recommendation for the installation of a 4000 <br />lumen light on the southeast corner of Donmoyer Avenue and South St. <br />Joseph Street, was approved by the Board. <br />A petition, dated March 20, 1955, complaining of insufficient <br />lighting in the 1000 block of Napier Street was examined and referred <br />to Supt. Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />Counneilman W. A. Hahn appeared before the Board and called <br />attention to the violation of City Ordinance prohibiting the display of <br />fruits and vegetables on the public sidewalk, citing two or more locations <br />where violation is flagrant. The Board directed the Clerk to give nott!4- <br />fication to the Chief of Police, with the request that a Police check <br />of such violation be made, and warning served upon the violators. <br />The report of the Inspector of Weights and Measures for the month <br />of March was received, examined and ordered filed. <br />There being no further.bubiness to come before the Board, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 11;30 A.
